My story is like most people, I have been struggling with weight my entire life and being around siblings that were really healthy and fit didn't help matters.  I started dieting way back when I was young and I haven't stopped since.  I did weight watchers three times and never seemed to lose anything, as well as, pill diets, jenny craig, which I did lose about 35 pounds, but with the onset of arthritis in 2009 I gained it all back plus more.  I came across the Lap Band procedure a couple of years ago, but never did I think about actually getting the surgery done.  Once I hit 223lbs I knew that I had to do something, so I started going to my PCP and doing a six month monitored diet in order to get the Lap Band.  Keep in mind that I had already done my research about the surgery, as well as, others and I felt that this one was the best one for me.  After a long a grueling six months I was finally able to go to my first appointment with Dr. Machado for the Lap Band procedure, and well the rest is history.  I am so happy with my decision, but I do understand that there is a lot that I need to learn and eventually I will reach my goal weight.
