  1. I use Isopure low carb protein shake powder in chocolate, but they have many flavors. In the beginning it was hard, but you get used to it really quickly. You can find it at GNC and the last two time I purchased it, it only cost 45.00 for a huge container and if you don't like it after you open it up and try it, you have 90 days to return for a full refund.
  2. So the day finally came! I got an email from my Surgeon's office, telling me that I was approved!!!!! I wanted to cry because I was so happy. I just had to tell people who know how hard it is, but it is all well worth it in the end. I am now waiting to hear about my surgery date. Does anyone recommend types of protein drinks/powders?
  3. Thanks, I will try that. I just needed someone's opinion on the matter. I appreciate it!!!
  4. So I need someone's opinion on this matter. My sister and her boyfriend have been very unsupportive of me having the lap band. They both believe that I should just get up and exercise and everything will be alright, oh and they are also both really fit people. It is the most frustrating thing!!!! Has anyone had this kind of experience? and what should I do about it?
  5. Hey! I was just wondering if anyone knew if PCOS could be considered a comorbidity? I have Blue Shield of CA HMO Thanks!!!!
  6. Hey! I know that this is a bit late, but my sister had surgery there (not lap band) and it was horrible! They ended up puncturing a hole in her esophagus and she was in the hospital for a couple of days. Come to find out my doctor in Huntington Beach told me that they already had a lawsuit against them from a woman for the same reason. My doctor told me that people should watch out for Fountain Valley Hospital.
  7. Hi everyone! I'm new here and I'm just getting started with the whole process of getting the Lap Band. I have been overweight for my entire life. Tomorrow I am going in to have a Sleep Diagnostic to see if I have Sleep Apnea. I have been told on many occasions that I hold my breath when I sleep. The problem that I am facing is my sister taking this whole process as a complete joke. The Sleep Diagnostic people asked to get her to document what she has seen while I have slept. When I asked her, she just laughed and said, "OMG! you don't stop breathing you just pause." Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who for her entire life has been the pretty one and a size 2. I just don't know what to do because I feel like I'm not getting any support in this decision. I know I'm just venting, but I feel like someone here will be able to relate or give me advice. I would completely appreciate it! Also does anyone have Blue Shield of California HMO? and how hard was it to get approval? Thanks!!
