  1. I'm thinking I will be a Sept banded too...not that far away!
  2. Do you still have your list of questions?
  3. My wife will be having the surgery sometime in Sept. As a husband (who is the cook of the house) what sort of things should I cook, and how should I cook them? I mean is is all just baked or grilled (which is all I do now anyway), Are there certain meats that are not allowed? How hard is it going to be to cook different meals for her and the rest of the family? Any Lap Band SPOUSES feel the same way I do? Just curious
  4. I have Fed BCBS TX n they req a 3 month diet.
  5. Wonder what is the reason for stopping the Vitamins?
  6. Makes me want to give em a call NOW to schedule...only if I could. 2 more visits...labs...waiting for insurance approval...I'm sure it ends one day.
  7. I'm interested as I live in Pearland area but work near there. I'm req to do 2 more visits w dr n then True Results will submit for approval w Fed BCBS. I hear I will be going to Memorial SE too!
  8. I just had those corticosteroid shots in both knees and I handled water aerobics really well tonight. Dr says i have patella femoral syndrome so no squats lunges deep knee bends.
  9. Wow, which one was this? Illinois or other...
  10. Federal BCBS told me approvals r done in a week too.
  11. I will say that when I first considered this back in 2010 my hubby was against it. Here it is 2012 n I am starting the process again. I lost over 70 lbs on Weight Watchers but has since gained 25 ilbs back since 2008. I want it to stop n I want these health issues to stop popping up that comes w morbid obesity. It's all about me n Guess what? He is all 4 it cuz he found some website for men supporting wives n how they get Sex all the time!! He can't wait for the surgery.... N yes I had to reassure him I had no plans to leave him afterwards. Do it for you...in the end, that's what really matters.
  12. Late last year I started my Xbox360 Biggest Loser/Zumba...got bored and decided I needed to be around people so I joined LAFitness in March. Since then, I have met some wonderful people/trainers that are doing a wonderful job keeping me accountable, encouraging, etc. My routine is to attend the 1 hour Bodyworks (Strength/Aerobics class) on Mon/Wed/Sat, 30 min of individualized torture on Friday (Personal Trainer) and sometimes I throw in some Aquafit on Tues or Thursday, Sundays I do the elliptical for 30 min to strengthen my quads (knee problems-arthritis). If I don't make it to the gym, I spend time at home on my Elliptical/Treadmill/Weights--they have me focusing on building lean muscle. So according to the nurse/psych I got the workout down...hoping I don't have too hard of a time getting back to schedule after the surgery. I want to give myself a few days break but not too much so I don't get too rusty. For those that worked out pre op did you have any issues in post op w your workout routines?
  13. Patience is a virtue I have not yet learned. But, this forum is doing wonders to keep me in check! I have to do a 3 month med supv visited which r actually 4. Visit 2 is tomorrow. I had my Psych appt last week n next month I do the tests. Hoping to get a late Aug surgery! I am so thankful to have discovered LBT.
  14. Cindy seems to respond faster to emails IMO. I go for my 2nd visit tomorrow...1 more to go! I'm hoping to be scheduled in Aug.
  15. Good to hear, I hope to have my surgery w him in late Aug/early Sept.
  16. I'm hoping to be a late August bander. Fed BCBS req 3 months supervised n I'm on month 2 now. Ins approval takes about a week per BCBS. Here's hoping that holds true!!
  17. I have Fed BCBS of Tx n was informed by them that ur would take about a week to get approval.
  18. I have leg lymphedema and was wondering how it was goingnw the lap band?
  19. I am going to True Results Houston as well. The Patient Advocate said I was looking at like $3,000 out of pocket based on my ins Fed BCBS.
  20. The Patient Advocate spoke with me about my history of trying to lose weight, discussed my insurance requirements, took measurements/weight, watched the lap band video while waiting, discussed the lap band, got the lap band book and then I had my first nutrition counseling along w scheduling the next month visit. I have to complete 3 additional counseling prior to the surgery and they put in an order to get my medical history. Now, I am just waiting on the psych referall appointment.
  21. I had my first consultation on Monday/nutrition counseling. I am now waiting for the Psych referall. I have to complete 3 more nutrition counseling sessions and get my Dr. to write a note stating I have not smoke in 6 months or been treated for substance abuse in the last year in order to get Fed BCBS to pay for everything. The Patient Advocate told me I was looking at about $3K out of pocket. Hoping to have the surgery by Sept (assuming a quick insurance approval)...I wanna go on my 7 day cruise in November, if possible! All in due time...patience is a virtue I have not yet learned.
