  1. Get ready for the ride of your life! The changes that are bout to come will blow your mind! CONGRATS!!!!
  2. Thats too funny. I too had steri strips in my belly button. Today, they were itching like mad. So I pulled on them a little and sure enough they came out easy. My belly button looks a little red, but ok otherwise. Today is 7 days post op. Best of luck to ya!
  3. Like Tiffykins said, sounds like you need to give it time to let the swelling go down. Taking anything by mouth was hard for me as well until yesturday. Now I can drink 2-3 oz at a time with no issues. Just keep an eye on your IV fluids, and flood the DR with qustions. That's what you are paying ofr, so make sure he does a good job. Best wishes.
  4. I am just one week post op. But I started using a skin care set by Jafra that my Mom sent me. It has the night cream, daily cleanser, optimum eyes serum and exfoliater. Thats for my Face! LOL Now...for the rest of my body , I have been trying to use the Royal Jelly Body Complex she sent me, along with some RJ Pomegranate oil . We will see how that works. Ill keep yall posted...
  5. Absolutley NOT! I have been overweight since the birth pf my first daughter at age 16. I have tried everyhting, changed my behaviors, and even starved myself. The weight would come off, begrudgingly. But....The minute I slacked, it all came right .....I love this sleeve. I am only 1 week post week post today. And to date, including pre-op diet I am down 21 lbs. 13 OF THAT BEING THIS WEEK!
  6. So glad to hear you are doing good, I was sleeved on 12/21 and am doing good as well. We have so much to look forward to in 2011!
  7. Congrats on making that first hard step toward the new you. I am just 6 days post op and starting to feel better each day... You can do this....I will be cheering for you!!!! :D
  8. Your diet is much the same as mine. I am a little confused though. Is yogurt a full liquid or pureed?
  9. Congrats! I am day four post op and down 7 lbs. Awesome isn't it?
  10. Can someone explain to me why we take PPI's after surgery? My doc said nothing about it, and didnt prescribe one post surgery. I know ot is an acid reducer. But is it mandatory? Thanks, sorry to sound dumb, the meds make it hard to focus on what I want to say. I am day four post op.
  11. Congratulations. I hope time passes quickly for you!
  12. I have my surgery this coming Tuesday in Phoenix. We will be leaving early Monday morning. I am a little nervous, but mostly impatient. HURRY UP TUESDAY!
  13. Congrats! Its gotta be nice neing on the losing end !
  14. Sorry to hear both of you are playing the waiting game. I think that part is the worst. I was blessed to have everything go quick. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
  15. I bought a 3 lb tub of the unflavored Isopure off Amazon for around $32 including shipping. You just have to shop around!
  16. If you are taking calcium, it is very important to take a daily vitamin D3 as well. The two are dependent on each other for absorption. Also, 80% of americans are vitamin D3 deficient.
  17. What about those protien bullets? For being so small they have alot of protien in them! Maybe that would be easier than a big shake..Just a thought.......
  18. From all the reaqding I have done, at 9 days out, shouldnt you still be on a liquid diet? Be careful! You have come so far, dont want to mess anything up!
  19. I will keep you both in my prayers for fast healing! What a great Christmas present to yourselves.
  20. I will have to try that! I have been wanting hot cocoa!
  21. Today marks one week exactly until I get sleeved. I am so excited. But at the same time, I feel pressured to get everything (the house chores, shopping, etc) done before I leave. This is normal I guess. So far I am down 9 lbs just from the Protien only diet I was put on pre op.
  22. Glad to hear everything went well. I will keep u in my prayers for speedy recovery.
  23. My initial surgeon consult/ psych eval/ NUT consult was on 11/17. Paper work was submitted on 11/29 and I called UHC on 12/3 to check on it. They told me I was approved. Now surgery is scheduled for 12/21. I believe that if you are proactive in following up with UHC's care coordinator, you will find out your status alot sooner. If I hadnt of called, I would have still been waiting for an approval/denial letter to come in the mail. Best of luck to ya!
