I'm on day 7 out of 14. the first 3 days were extremely hard. Day 4 and 5 were slightly better. Once you get to Day 6, the hunger pains start going away. Now at Day 7 I barely feel hungry at all until like 2-3 pm. It is definitely dooable, you just need to focus and get past the beginning hurdle. The longer you go without food, the easier it becomes. When you start cheating your body starts to expect food again, which makes it worse because then its like starting from Day 1 again if that makes sense. Stay strong!

    I am over it.

So I haven’t told many people about me going through the process to have WLS my surgery is scheduled for July 3rd and I just don’t particularly care to hear about others opinions on it at this point in my journey. Well today I find out my grandmother is going around telling EVERYONE who will listen about me having the surgery. I. AM. PISSED. I didn’t even tell her about it so someone else apparently needed to share information about it as well. Now all I’ve heard all day is how I don’t need the surgery and how I don’t even look “big” enough to have the surgery. I’m 5’3 and weighed 250 lbs at the beginning of my pre-surgery weight loss. That is medically considered obese. I’m so frustrated right now and I just don’t know what to do about this situation. I can’t necessarily tell my grandmother to STFU lol. I tried telling her I wasn’t okay with her sharing that information but it didn’t phase her at all. I’m seriously going to lose it if I hear one more time that I’m being stupid or making a huge mistake. I don’t need the negativity when I’m this close to surgery.

Finally a cure to my tiredness

That's crazy too. But I get it. I'm just happy to be back to feeling "me".

I actually haven’t tried lube yet- and plan on it- but yeah it does make sense to lose some sensation after losing so much fat .. but I did make an apt for some hormone tests to see if anything different is going on. I was extremely easy to please before- and now - nothing at all. So I’m puzzled. Would suck to have lost all sensation forever. Lol! Thanks for your input.

    Frustrated by progress

Welcome to the stall. As stated, your body WILL go through periods of "stall" or "re-calibration". If you have the means, get yourself a scale that does body fat as well. Once you transition to heavier/solid foods, and once you start hitting the gym more, you are going to potentially see more "gains"... for me, I weigh in every day, some days I increase, but body fat will decrease. So as long as 1 of the 2 sets of numbers is decreasing, I'm ok with that. As long as you are getting in the proper amounts of water, protein and exercise, you'll be just fine.

Normal for some. Sounds like the time to telephone your bariatric clinic and/or surgeon for advice ... "to be sure to be sure" as my Irish pals say!

Yikes! I also used top doc and A rated hospital - 25 K for lower body with outer thigh plus a bit of bum work and breasts surgery 2 a separate 9 k for inner thighs and surgery 3 9 k for arm with side and back of torso. I had mine done in a high cost area but would not rule out 1 or 2 hours away. - CT or NJ. Even Long Island Get a few quotes whatever you do then go with what you are comfortable.

    New Here VSG in May!

MedicVSG, Don't worry about your wife. Once she sees how well you are doing she will probably want to do something herself. I'm foodie as well, I even write food reviews on occasion for a local publication. I'm just going to have to let that part of my life go. In fact I've been thinking rechanneling it into a healthy lifestyle blog or something we will see. I love to go on cruises and cruises are ALL about eating... but I have decided that the first cruise after surgery will be on where I make it a challenge to eat as healthy as possible, seek out small, healthy meals. 8 years ago I lost 100 pounds and I went on a cruise and lost 7 pounds while on the 10 day cruise!!! So I know I can do this if I put my mind to it and so can you. Hang in there.
