I guess when you are overweight you are kind of invisible, so now everyone is always commenting in person or in pictures on social media about how much weight I've lost, or how good I look. Just not used to it I suppose. The doctor did warn me, but it's kind of shocking.

Having not lost weight for nearly two weeks after surgery, I was starting to stress even thought I had heard of the three week stall. I then read this article and discussed it with my husband who's a meat science who confirmed its accuracy. A breath of relief and kept doing what I was supposed to and weight started dropping quickly again. Thought I'd share if someone else was experience and wondering what was going on. Here's the link: The article I read

    Driving

I was just told no driving while in pain meds. I drove less than a week afterward- maybe 4 days. I didn't need a lot of pin meds. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 196.6 GW 135

My weight loss has been officially noticed by the women I work with (from about 2 months post-op) and by my students, but not really from anyone else. Some of my students from 3-4 years back often don't recognise me at first, and do a double-take when they realise it's me. It is heartwarming to hear my students call me "slim" now, even though I'm not, as I'm still obese, and even if and when I get to a normal BMI I will still be considered big by Japanese standards (as I was when I first came here many years ago). The men I know haven't said anything to me unless I bring it up first.

It got embarrassing for a while, now three years out this has become the new norm. I miss the attention now, sometimes[emoji4]

    Gained 2 pounds!!

What was your starting weight? Weight loss with a sleeve doesn't occur in a predictable, linear pattern. Most of us didn't post losses daily, so weighing oneself every day can be futile and pointless. With a sleeve we lose some weight, then hold onto some weight, then may stall and plateau on occasion, and may even regain a few water weight pounds before dropping more weight. The only super-rapid losers tend to be males, super-obese people with a BMI greater than 50, and young people in their teens and 20s. Most people don't lose 30+ pounds a month like a house on fire. Realistic expectations are important. Good luck to you.

    Sleeping post op

If you have a recliner, you can sleep in that for a little while until you can sleep on your tummy again

Eating More @ 7 months out

breakfast sandwich? processed food. lasagna? heavy carbs and gluten. sloppy joe? bread and added sugars. your issue is not quantity but quality. none of what you just listed is healthy. make better food choices and THEN let your appetite guide you. right now, the foods you are eating are not nutritionally dense, so your body is not satisfied, and therefore driving you to eat more. slippery slope you are on. correct it while it's still early.
