    Weird feeling..

It is tough in the first few weeks , we all go through it. Its major surgery and we under estimate that. Lots of us have had buyers remorse in the first month but it does get better, Once you begin to getting your water and protein quota in your body things start to get on the right track and you feel better. Take things as easy as you can, be kind to yourself, have naps if you need them. If you are still having spaced out days or dont feel right ask to see your team P.S. if you are dehydrated { is your urine really dark coloured ?} you might need to go to the ER to get it put right I hope you feel better soon

    Weird feeling..

Hello, Your body is adjusting and probably freaking out. Might be dehydrated if you aren't getting in fluids. I had 1 oz cups and I drank one every few minutes and kept a tally. I made sure each day I beat yesterday by at least 1 oz. it really helped push me until I started hitting my goal. Once I was able to drink bigger sips, I graduated to drinking from a cup so I could use ice. I prefer my water ice cold. Still keeping track (I track everything, everyday) Try some Gatorade with protein, or any of the clear protein drinks. They count as fluids and proteins and the protein promotes healing as well as nutrition. I was very lucky, I had a super easy recovery and had no desire to eat so I never went thru the "missing food" stage. I did get a little creative and drained different soups so I could have different flavors. Plain broth was too bland for me. Other people ate the rest of the soup so I wasn't wasting a bunch of food too. I hope you feel better soon, if not call your surgeon.

    Post Surgery Dreams

Oooh I forgot about this one. The last time I went to an amusement park was years ago at Carowinds (NC/SC). I was riding Drop Zone (tall, chairs go up, lock, and then drop you). The line is always long for this ride. We finally made it, I sat down with my friends and pulled the lock bar over my head and shoulders. The attendant comes around and locks the buckle between your legs to the lock bar. They couldn't get it to click. I had to walk off the ride and through the exit, alone, because I was too fat to ride. I never went back. I sometimes wonder if my love for roller coasters has waned since I haven't been on one in so long. I hope not. The thrill was exhilarating! Can't wait to try again.

So I just got the call today that my surgery was going to have to be postponed a week due to the surgeons availability/schedule. Instead of July 6th, it will be July 14th. I didn't realize I was so attached to the original date. I'm sitting here silently crying because it got moved a week. When I was speaking to the scheduler on the phone, I literally felt my stomach drop when she said it. Instant depression. Can one grieve a literal DATE for something like a surgery??? I'm all kinda in my emotions and it feels really weird because of the reason why. For anyone who might have experienced a postponement - is this normal?

    Full too soon after eating

I have to supplement with 1 protein shake a day too. Even if I eat pure meat I still can't eat enough to hit my protein goals unless I eat like 5-6 times a day and I don't have time for that. I drink a shake for breakfast every morning and then eat 2-3 times a day beyond that.

    Full too soon after eating

I am almost 7 months out and chicken doesn't sit well with me. Every few weeks I try it again but not yet. I am ok with all the other meats but only in tiny amounts like 2 ounces. Every month sees an improvement for me. I hope you get that too.

    Popcorn

They make containers that you can put in the microwave now that make popcorn from kernels too. They sell them everywhere such as Walmart and Amazon. Just be careful because popcorn is a slider food for many of us.

    9 days post-op

it would be the exception, not the rule, for someone at your starting weight to lose 30 lbs the first month. If you weighed well over 300 lbs, then yea - but I'm very surprised she told you that with your starting weight. Not that it couldn't happen, but it's not very realistic. I hate to question your doctor, but I've been hanging out on bariatric forums for over seven years, and also volunteered at my clinic for about four years. As I said, that's definitely not impossible, but it'd be the exception to lose that much weight given your starting weight.
