I really believe it all comes down to calories ingested. Have you been counting yours?

    Wondering WHY I did it!

Hello Grace! I hope you are weathering our quarantine as well as you possibly can. I am also losing sloooowly, but I am thrilled with losing it at all! I had my surgery on February 10th, and I weighed 248 that day. I am now just a smidge under 228; so 20 pounds in 7 weeks. I have occasionally lost 3 pounds on the first week of a diet, maybe here and there throughout a diet, but averaging nearly 3 pounds a week feels pretty good to me! I am starting to feel a lot more energy, and as the days get longer and a bit warmer, I'm looking forward to taking longer walks in the days ahead. So many people out walking about with the quarantine on, I hope they don't close the parks. Stay in touch! I enjoy reading about everyone's journey.

Working in health care at a clinic of maximum care is kind of scary these days. We're still waiting for the big fall out. We have several ICU patients with COVID-19 so far, two of them were referred from another clinic in the country and man their lungs look scary on the CT scan... This feels so much like only waiting for this sh*t biting your ass. Right now everyone is convinced that every one of us will catch it sooner or later with protection clothing still a problem etc. My husband belongs to a group of people with higher risk as well. We don't know yet how we're going to handle the situation. Not visiting for maybe several months? One mustn't think about what could happen. Well, of course the thoughts pop up and anxiety comes in wave. Better not engage with them and stop the catastrophizing.

    Super hungry!

I will be 4 weeks postop tomorrow, I'm hungry too! I went to Walmart Grocery store today and finding protein rich foods without it becoming monotonous is a real task. I found some egg bites premade with cheese and Turkey sausage, I don't eat pork, but they had bacon as well. I found a large container of Oikos Yogurt which is 12 grams of protein per serving, egg whites, cream of wheat, oatmeal, Sargento cheese snacks, milk for protein drink mixes and few other items for my family. I miss having ftuit, vegetables, salads, fish because my body is rejecting my favorite protein. I'm also feeling tired of sweet liquids, not being able to drink plain old fashioned water without an enhancement to tolerate it, I want cold cereal, I want cashews and pistachios for a healthy protein boost. I miss some of my favorite healthy staples that would satiate my hunger, but Ariel aka my stomach is still healing and I have to respect it. I'm hungry too.

I am going to try the D-Mannose first. See if that helps. But I also think I need to ask my PCP to routinely do a urinalysis every time I see her, since I don't always have symptoms.

Yeah I hear you... I started at 322 and thought it would be nice to get under 200 maybe 185 but here I am 7 months later at 172lbs and still seem to be losing but very slowly of course.. I've upped my calories lately but still seem to be stable sometimes for a week other times I'll lose a lb a week.. I'm not sure exactly if I'm done losing weight it seems the bypass has really changed my metabolism I have added some carbs lately but still seem to be losing or maintaining not gaining.. I've lost 150lbs in 7 months without even really exercising. it's amazing to see 172lbs on the scales and people starting to call me skinny or to tell me to stop losing...lol
