    Depression and anxiety

Thanks for replying! And I'm sorry to hear about your situation. That does seem like a lot to handle, I hope things get better! I'm glad you mentioned that it's temporary, I remember to think about that when I'm having an episode. Today I feel a lot better. I'm focusing on the positive, staying present, and putting all my faith in God. Looking back, I realized that I was playing that negative reel in my mind. Like the what ifs or the should ofs and how it's going to be. So I stopped that. Takes practice but I feel better. I've also made an appointment with my therapist!! Depression and anxiety

I thought it was just me feeling out of sorts. Today I'm really off. But I've been really off the past couple of days. I just want to be alone for a while. I'm really agitated. Everything and everyone feels like they're smothering me.

    Depression and anxiety

You build yourself up and up preparing for your surgery, when you go home often there is a let-down, you may not feel really great, stiff, sore and gassy. More often than not as the days pass things will smooth out, if not reach out to your doctor or someone else you trust. We all need help at one time or another, no shame in that.

Weight loss stopped after 5 weeks?

Thank you so much for your kind words. Looking forward to a healthier 2019. I'm grateful to be on only 2 of the 4 blood pressure meds.that I took prior to surgery. That was a gift in itself!

    Sweet Tooth - Post Bypass

*Bursts In* Am I late? No? Good. I was a fiend for sugar prior to surgery. I was lying to myself. I just chose top shelf. A rose by any other name, right? I used Agave nectar, raw & manuka honey, organic cane crystals, maple syrup, etc. You name it, anything besides sugar. But I had to detox hardcore and use alternatives exclusively for a while. Post op I use stevia, monkfruit, eyrthritol (sp?), *occasionally sucralose* (protein shakes) etc. My chocolate has to be 90% cacao or higher or I just won't buy it. I'm inflexible about that. I count 4 times that I have indulged in bites of gifted junk chocolate, because why make people feel like crap about a gift and live a life of balance you know. My candy bars are protein types (Kind, NuGo slim, etc) or a Walmart brand that have max of 6-7g of added sugar. And funny I don't even eat that much fruit these days... Safe Journey 🎈

    Mental Starvation?

Also as @Kay07 vary the viscosity of your protein! Try protein puddings (mix instant ff sugar free pudding with fairlife ff milk + a scoop of protein powder or peanut butter powder and make into pudding. You can even mix it with some ff whipped cream (I use Land o' Lakes) and then plop it by spoons onto plastic wrap and freeze them into little pillows of protein heaven. Make slushies, make protein teas (hot and cold), protein coffees/lattes/iced coffee/frappacinos. Make Wendy's protein Frosties. Add some fruit and blend the hell out of it. If you're worried about too much fiber in there, push it through a strainer. Sometimes just making it thick like a milk shake helps. You can do that by adding a bit of avocado or a small piece or 2 of frozen banana. Eat sf fudgsicles, and make protein popsicles and protein ice cream if you have an ice cream freezer.
