    Busting outta hospital

Had my sleeve done two days ago. Finished up two nights in hospital and have been discharged. Learnt that I have diabetes and being sent home with insulin. Lots to take in and get my head around. I can drink quite a bit of water but still feel so thirsty with a dry mouth. Looking forward to seeing what the coming days and weeks bring.

Glad you're headed home:) The diabetes could resolve with your new diet. Follow all your instructions and try not to be overwhelmed...you're on the right track and things should get better before long. Wishing you a quick recovery and great results:)

    Stalled out

Suggestions... Stop worrying! Stalls happen when your body needs to re-calibrate itself. If you know you are on your mark for calorie and water, and you are getting your exercise, then everything else doesn't really matter. You could be losing body fat and not see it on the scale (happened to me a few times so far, gained a pound or 2, but dropped body fat. Just keep on doing what you are and don't focus only one 1 measurement! You got this!

Yeah, how often have they screamed Cut those calories! Ever notice its the same people that say If you would only concentrate you'd lose weight! Listen, I come from a long line of worriers and stewers, if thinking would make it so we would verge on anorexia instead of being obese. And their brother-in-laws "If you want it enough the weight will leave" Bull Feathers!😞

I have to be free of nicotine for 2 months before they let you meet the surgeon. Not smoking or drinking or so days has been easy to give up getting rid of coffee is still a work in process. Anyone else?

Everyone’s goals are different, different surgeons have different plans! So it sounds like you are meeting YOUR goals. So... you either stay the course or shake things up. You can try increasing your calories as was suggested. You can try tweaking your macros since you have that info. You can stay the course. You will most likely start losing again no matter which of these things you do. Stalls and plateaus happen. Even small gains especially around that time of the month when you may retain water. Did you have some high sodium days? You mention the chips. Salt will make you retain water.

Try not to weight yourself every day, you will go mad!!! I am on day 10 of the liquid diet, I lost 5 lbs drastically in 2 days, and was the same weight for 8 days, until this morning the scale magically dropped 5 pounds overnight. Do not worry at all, the weight will continue to come off. Be patient, and also remember after surgery you WILL stall but don't let this discourage you! Just like our minds need to catch up to the new us (taking more time grocery shopping, looking for new sizes clothes shopping, etc) our body needs to catch up with itself, and all of the changes going on internally.

    Back to work?

Everyone is different. But I had a very easy recovery. I work from home, so I technically took no time off. I wasn't on any pain meds after the second day. I was able to work, emails, conference call etc., immediately. I was driving by the third day. No issues with doing laundry, light housework, fixing meals. If I had a sedentary desk job then 1 week would have been more than enough for me.

Not sure if they test for nicotine, I also smoked for many years but I quit like 2 months ago, still using a vapor e cig..but zero nicotine fluids. My surgery is also on the 24th, go for blood work and EKG on 11/7 P.S. - I got so mad about something today that I wanted one, I went out in the warehouse to ask the delivery guy for a cig, but he had already left, I guess I was saved.
