Fortunately, all went well. I lost 29lb in the three and a half months since my first appointment doing a sloppy job of keto and not exercising at all due to my bad back, bad feet and bad shoulders. They'll be submitting my paperwork to Cigna for approval tomorrow, and the staff said it usually takes up to two weeks for Cigna to process everything. Once the approval comes in they'll schedule me for surgery and I'll make an appointment with my PCP for my pre-op physical. My best guess is that I'm looking at mid-June at this point. The good news I got is that I will not be having my procedure done outpatient as I'd previously been told. It turns out that Cigna requires an overnight stay, so I'll be having the surgery at the hospital and will get to spend the night. While I'm sure the doctor would not do it out patient if it wasn't safe, I prefer the idea that I'll be monitored for at least the first 24 hours following surgery. So now I wait. Many people post about their nerves and fears yet I have none. My wife had a knee replacement two weeks ago and I was perfectly calm. I've had two epidurals in the last two months and didn't worry at all. I even took my daughter out driving on Sunday morning, her first time behind the wheel, and even then I was utterly relaxed. I'm really beginning to think that at this point in my life nothing is going to phase me any more.

    IGNORING EVERYONE!!!

So I haven’t even had this surgery yet and I’m already isolating my self from triggers of family, friends etc. I am seriously feeling like this is the best way for now because either people are super insensitive or they just don’t realize the words that come out their mouths. So until I’m good and ready I am MIA.... rant rave over and out

    Sex

I'm glad this is a safe place to discuss these things because there is so much that comes from having WLS and its good to have a sounding board. I hope things improve for you soon!

    Regarding caffeine

I know there is still small traces of caffeine in decaff coffee. My team lets me drink that, which is good because I still love my premier protein + decaff coffee post-surgery.

Way to go, seems like you are doing fantastic. What was the hardest point for you? How long did it take for you to start seeing your weight drop.

FL Anthem BCBS 6 month req HELP! :-)

I also have Anthem BCBS, and doctors office says I need yo see a hospital based nutritionist every month for 6 months. My plan wording is the same as yours. I interpret it as needing to be continuous. No breaks. Unfortunately you may have to go back to April and start your 6 months there. :-( Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Losing weight but not sizes

Same thing happened to me. My work slacks have a good bit of stretch in them and I was frustrated that i hadn’t been able to move to the next size. So I tried on some older slacks of a different brand that I no longer wore because they were a bit tight. And those were hanging off me! That’s when I realized that stretchy clothes are deceiving!
