    Hitting a stall

Those darn stalls 😂 I think I’m on my 4th since surgery (5/5/2017). This can be frustrating. Allwet has really covered it all (good job). Perhaps changing up your exercise too might work. Keep your head up.. your still doing awesome 🎉

I don't feel like I am an emotional eater, more of a sugar addict and a boredom "grazer" but I would like to get some counseling just to help give this process every chance possible to get the weight off and STAY off.. but I am not sure if I am supposed to be looking for just a general counselor OR is there a specific type?

    Hitting a stall

This is not specific to stalls but here is the same advice i give everyone that asks 1. Hydrate - make sure you are hitting your water target 2. track your food - use an app to track every thing you eat so know exactly what your macro's are. 3. no added sugar - no fruits if your stalled 4. no simple carbs 5. complex carbs from your veggies 6. hit your protein target - this number changes as you lose weight. 7. No snacks after dinner Lastly i use a simple version of intermittent fasting - this just means i dont eat any calories after dinner till next meal the next day. This can be as short as 12 hrs when you start, something like 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. If you can go longer by eating dinner a little early or breakfast a little late then thats even better. this gives your body time to burn stored fat instead of a steady supply of new food every few hours. good luck

    Unflavored protein powder

My favorite is NorCal grass fed unflavored. It needs mixing in cold liquids but all whey does. I feel it is the healthiest. I don’t use any other.

    Dining with Friends

I have a lot of business meals. The first thing I noticed is people don’t pay all that much attention to what you eat or how much. I may say something like I’m on a strict diet with a nutritionist. If it’s someone who knows how much I have lost I may talk more about limited calories and no carb.

Hey need some friends that can relate

I have been banded for 10 years. Had the weight off for 8 years and then BAM, retired and last year of work was a nightmare with the boss from hell. I know, that is not an excuse, but here I am again trying to lose this 35-40 pounds gained from stress eating. Getting back on this website has helped me get my resolve to do this again and I hope that this helped you with knowing that we all slip one time or another and we can do this again. I believe that obesity is a disease like alcoholism, the only difference is that you can quit alcohol but you cannot totally give up food. We need to have control at all times and it is definitely HARD TO DO.

Same here. Banded in march 2013. Lost 70 in the first year and by now gained 50 back. After first year just stopped following the rules. Now going to try to get back into the groove. Used to be in Essex now in Passaic.

I was banded in 2013 and have lost 150 lbs. During this journey I've had a few gains. The highest at one point was near 15 pounds. I hate losing the weight over again so that keeps me motivated even if I'm not losing I work hard not to gain. I'm working on this last 20 pounds I want to lose. It's hard work Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Maintenance is never ending. Seems like a few cocktails or dessert will put me up and boy, I have to work for weeks to get it off. All relative ... 5 lbs extra vs almost 100 ten years ago
