I'm grateful to be home, with my unfiltered internet access, lots to read, the fact that the binder my surgeon's office gave me doesn't say that I must wait to start the puréed stage of the diet (though I will call their office tomorrow to confirm). And the fact that since Sunday, I lost 3,8 kg (or 8,3 lbs)!

    Hair loss

Honestly? After talking to dozens and dozens of post-op bariatric surgery patients, it depends more on your genetics and your luck than anything. And I hate to say that. It's kind of like the loose skin issue. I wish I had a magical trick for the huge number of people that have asked me about my lack of hair loss and loose skin, but really - I got my protein in, I drank my water, I used bath and body works lotion a few times a week. 170 lbs lost, never lost any hair, barely any loose skin. I have no idea how, or why - neither does anyone else take your biotin, get your protein, drink your water - you could try to find some biotin shampoo! But honestly, I don't know if it makes that much difference. It seems that some people just lose the hair, and some don't. Good news? It will grow back!

Going on 15 months post op

Hi everyone! I haven't been on here for awhile! I hope everyone finds this website as usfl as I did and still do! its been almost 15 months since my Surgery. My starting weight was 465 lbs and as of this morning I am down to 222lbs exactly that's a 243 weight loss total. I hit a stall for Weeks!! so I started walking more and added more food to my diet (healthy food of course) once I started that the weight started coming off again (PHHHEW) I am 42 lbs away from my original goal weight and let me tell you.. THIS FEELS AMAZING!!!! my life has completely changed for the better.. im more active and im living the life I always wanted for me and my daughter if anyone is deciding to get this surgery I will always tell you GO FOR IT!!! I had fears but the happiness of feeling free and "normal" outweighs that fear I had before deciding to have this surgery. it literally saved my life! good luck to those who are starting their journey and keep it up! I will always say this; This was the best decision I ever made and I do not regret anything!!!!!!

    Hair loss

Hi! I was sleeved on April 19th! Congrats on your 57lb loss! I am only at 44 so that's great! As far as the hair loss have you started losing hair? I too do the 10,000 mcg of biotin and knock on wood haven't lost any as of yet. I have heard that the slower u lose the weight the better of a shot you have to not lose much. My hair is thin to begin with so I was really worried. Hoping things stay the same where this is concerned!

Have a plan for your nutrition. I travel for work and the travel is not the issue. The planning for handling my nutrition was what I needed to work through. Will you be at business lunches or dinners? Will you expected to order off a menu? Will there be social drinking and how will you deal with that ? What stage will you be on for your food plan?

To Pho or Not To Pho....

Oh man! 1.) I love all these Pho puns! 2.) Pho is delicious and now I want all the pho 3.) Shirataki noodles are uhmazing and that's a fantastic idea to substitute them in this dish! They're the perfect consistency! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
