@lsubabe33 Give up the protein shakes and eat real protein. Your body burns more calories when processing real food. You are also fuller for longer. Do you weigh all your food and track it? You posted very vague things about what you eat in a day. What are your macros like daily? What is your protein goal? Do you hit it every day? Why doesn't you Dr do surgery anymore? Do you think it is possible your sleeve was done incorrectly.

    2 months post op

First picture is from November 2016 at 303 pounds. The second picture is from tonight. Same clothes. I had to hold my pants from falling to the floor. Tomorrow, I will be two months post op and weigh in at 231. So glad I made the decision for WLS.

    Foods you no longer enjoy

My husband told me it only took 45 minutes. My Dr. also fixed a hernia while in there. I'm 4 weeks post op and I was able to start adding soft foods at 3 weeks and normal diet as of this past Monday. I do eat, I just don't really enjoy it right now. Maybe when the swelling has gone down.

    Great primary doc visit yesterday

My primary doc of about 15 years is retiring next week so I planned a final visit. She has been such an amazing support over the years- I cried when I left. So yesterday she did my A1C in the office.. . 5.4 Normal! She said one more normal and they will remove my diabetic diagnosis. I've lost 25 pounds. She said I was no longer morbidly obese- No more hypersomnia No more bursitis She said she'd go through my diagnosis list and clean it up! I felt like I started with her a mess and now am on a positive health track. I'm so sad to see her retire but am so thankful for a great dr. Who worked with me to get me healthy again. Foods you no longer enjoy

So far the only food that bothered me was scrambled eggs, but I can eat them now if they are mixed with a lot of veggies. Everything I liked before I still like. I haven't tried any foods I don't like..lol.. I am not craving bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, or sugary foods at all. I am so thankful for that and I have no desire to ever eat them in any kind of quantity again. I used to love crackers and cheese as a snack, but I have no problems turning down crackers now. This is what I love about the keto diet. It really takes those food cravings away. I look forward to my salmon, greens, chicken, ect..

    Foods you no longer enjoy

So far I'm able to eat anything but finds that sweets aren't as satisfying anymore, not that I'm jumping on that bandwagon this soon but like my husband wanted ice cream did I got one scoop of frozen yogurt and it was like ehhh. Wasn't worth my calorie intake. I used to be a carb and sweets gal. My new thing now is, when you get to the cheese center of your danish I'll take a little bite. Once again not planning on making this a habit but sometimes it's hard to sit and watch everyone else eat it but I know that I didn't have this surgery to eat desserts all day lol.

200+ pounds to loose and scared

Congrats on taking the first steps to a healthier you! One of your first decisions to make is which surgery. Please don't do the lap band. Just cross that one off your list right away. The Roux-en-Y bypass (RNY, or simply bypass), the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (sleeve), or Duodenal Switch (DS). You might qualify for any of the three, your surgeon will likely point you in a direction based on your circumstances or his own expertise (be careful of the latter, because you want the right surgery for YOU, not just what he's selling). There are tons of threads on the board about how to choose a procedure. Look around, and have fun during the research phase. You don't have to make a decision right away either. (But you might as well start looking early so you have time to really get comfortable with the idea of whichever you choose). All three have similar post-op diets and recovery phases. The main differences are the long-term complications, statistics, and vitamin requirements. (The DS also has higher goals for protein and fat intakes.) Good luck!
