    #FitCouple?

My husband is a type 1 diabetic but wasn't doing all he could to give himself the best care. I didn't ask him to modify his eating when I had surgery, but he did and he lost weight like crazy. He also does all the cooking, so I think that made it easier for him to make the jump. We do super high protein/low carb dishes and snacks. He chose to come to the gym with me and that was a huge game changer. We now do that and all kinds of activities like bowling, disc golf, etc. together. All of our friends joking refer to us as "the power couple" since we're both healthier, more fit, happier, and super active. Best of luck to you and your husband on your journey!

    Diabetic

Hello! My name is Denise from California. I am 62 & waiting to see my surgeon hopefully in 2 wks. I'm having the sleeve. After seeing what my younger sister (50ish) & 40 yr old daughter experienced after having the sleeve I thought I would try loosing my weight naturally. I have been attending a Healthy Balance class afford by Kaiser since Dec. 2016 & have lost 10 lbs. Something I haven't been able to do in years after trying several diet plans. Anyway I saw my bariatric Dr. Who mentioned that since I was diabetic that having the surgery would be good for my health since it can bring my diabetes into remission. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 6 yrs ago. He said the longer I have this disease the more likely I can develop complications with my diabetes. Does any have any thoughts or suggestions on this matter? I would appreciate any feed back. Sent from my SM-T530NU using BariatricPal mobile app

Site showed up in Facebook feed??

I'm so sorry that happened. I too am not at all comfortable with all of Facebook knowing about this. You could've liked it for lots of reasons (to Facebook land). That said. I'm looking to see if I too inadvertently liked it.

I don't think your protein snack is a problem. There are two phases to gastric bypass surgery. These are the weight loss phase and the maintenance phase. The approach is different between these two phase. I am 4 years post op RNY gastric bypass. This describes the approach that I am using in the Maintenance phase. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery2.pdf

    Take a Leap of Faith

I've been talking to friends and acquaintances who have told me crazy stories about what they have heard about getting the Sleeve done. When they hear that I had the surgery there fascinated and are stunned because I appear normal and healthy. Why? Because I am!!! Stop believing the negative hype!!! More and more people are getting it done. Remember the successes move on with their lives, because it's better for them. The negative stories are few and only appear on sites like this to scare you. If you are Sick of Being Sick and Tired!!! Take A Leap Of Faith!!!! It's worth the sacrifice of a two month liquids and soft foods. Do It!!!!!!

Hello my name is Brenda, I see you saw him back I, 2008, I just saw him and I am getting ready for my pre surgery exams. And I am wondering how was your experience with him. And if you don't mind your experience after the surgery. I am really curious about him since I have not heard anything from pass patients of him. Than you
