    I miss carbonated drinks

People seem to handle carbonation differently. Generally it seems most can't have it. The carbonation just doesn't sit well in our smaller stomachs. For others though they can drink some in moderation. I was a Diet Dew nut prior to surgery. Do I miss it a bit? Sure. But I also know I was drinking too much and it wasn't good for me whether it was diet or not. I honestly thing kicking soda is a big reason why I've felt so much better post-op. We all have our own things we struggle with, but this is part of the problem with not facing addictions before the surgery. Getting a sleeve doesn't fix those cravings. For me I've been too preoccupied with everything else going on to miss sodas that much. I have a wide enough drink selection to keep me satisfied. All I can suggest is to keep as much good variety of drinks in the house as possible.

    Medicare?

Has anyone here had surgery who has Medicare? If so how long did you have to wait to get surgery once you were approved? All I had to do was have a psychology evaluation and fill out some paperwork and get my doctor to write a letter - The hospital said I am automatically approved but I am wondering how long will it be until I have surgery once that is submitted to Medicare. Has anyone gone through The process with Medicare before in this group and how did it go for you?

    Anxious

I feel exactly the same way. My appointment is tomorrow to visit my surgeon and get the okay to schedule my surgery. My life has been obsessed with research and talking to all of you on these helpful forums. Praying for a quick surgery date so I can really start my new life.

    Keep Going

Always encouraging. Even if we stumble. We try to start over. It's a good strategy imho

Not gonna lie im almost 5 months out and i have liquid days. Not because I'm trying so hard to lose weight but sometimes i just can't do solids. Sometimes i feel tight early and can only do Water, shakes and tea. So I'll do that and my next meal I'll do dense Protein. And sometimes i can't finish the same amount as i did the day before but it's ok. Part of the process i guess. Im usually ok just up my shakes for that day and drink more water. I don't push it. Next day i get back into it best i can. Just gotta go with the flow. But still do what you need to do for you. I try to eat when im hungry unless that takes too long. If im not thinking about it ill completely forget or neglect the fact i need to eat. Sometimes i just really don't feel like eating. When that happens if im not actively hungry I'll wait it out a bit. If i start to feel sick i know i waited too long and will drink a bottle of water before my next meal to start my system. It just feels better, like I've woken my system to receive food. If i don't its hard to get much anything in and it isn't comfortable for my stomach.

You may be being paranoid, but you have the right to ask questions. When is your f/u appt? Just be frank with your Dr then
