I feel exactly the same way. My appointment is tomorrow to visit my surgeon and get the okay to schedule my surgery. My life has been obsessed with research and talking to all of you on these helpful forums. Praying for a quick surgery date so I can really start my new life.

Hi there. Anyone here from Buffalo using the Bariatric Center at Kaleida Health? I'm pre-surgery. Just had my EGD on 1/11. Dr. Hoffman said I have a Giant hiatal hernia and would have to have Gastric Bypass. I have met all my requirements and meet him on 2/21 to hopefully book my surgery. Hi all. Brand new here. So happy to find this app while researching my pending surgery. I was looking for some advice. I have Crowns disease but my GI dr is on board with Bariatric surgery. I just had an EGD done last week with my Bariatric surgeon. After the test he told my mother that I had a giant hiatal hernia and might not be able to have the surgery. He told my mother to continue on my preop work and he would know more when he reviewed all my records. I just got my EGD report last week and it just said I couldn't have the Sleeve and would have to do the Bypass if I wanted to proceed. I have my next appt on 2/21 which will b the appt I set up my surgery for. You never meet the dr until this appt. You see the NP's at all prior appts. This is all I think about. It has absolutely taken over my thoughts. My fear is that he will me I can't have the surgery after all of the preparing I have been doing. Anyone else have any similar issues? I also have had so many surgeries in the past that he may want to do Open Bypass. Anyone have this done due to prior surgeries?
