    Post-Op 21 Days - Sick and Tired

I'm not sure, but your doctor might have put you on a higher calorie level because you are a tall man and you may just require a bit more than us shorties. I haven't had surgery yet, but I'll die if I can't tolerate my sugar free popsicles afterwards! I'm addicted. I've been slowly weaning myself off of sodas, and now for the past two months, I have only drunk water. Good luck to you, and yes, I remember Tab.

    Start of the journey

Best of luck to you and all of us on this journey. I remember losing a lot of weight a decade ago and not seeing the skinny girl in the mirror. Now I don't see how fat I actually am unless I accidentally let my son snap a picture and glance at myself quickly while frantically hitting the delete button. I'm tired of deleting myself! I too have not told anyone but my husband (because I need a ride) and 2 friends because I'm embarrassed like you. Is it because we are secretly afraid to fail even with the sleeve? Perhaps. Is it because we are afraid they will talk us out of it? Probably. Is it because we are hiding our unhappiness with our weight and, therefore, other parts of our life? Definitely! I was told to do the 2 week preop diet of shakes or very little food like you. I can drink the shakes but I am soooo hungry! If I could live on 800-1000 calories, I wouldn't need the sleeve! I've read here that our tastes change after the surgery. Hope you are able to tolerate the shakes post-surgery! Good luck.

    Detour from Weight Loss

How are the headaches preventing weight loss?? I go into surgery tomorrow and I'm perplexed to know that it IS IN FACT possible not to lose anything regardless of 80% of your stomach being removed... please tell me why yu haven't lost anything...or is it you've not lost a huge amount?

    Nsv's, progress, stalls, and awareness

for the sweet tooth recipe try going to the spark recipes website and search ricotta custard. High protein & low carb -- can enjoy it warm or cold (when cold it's like cheesecake -yum!) Probly need to sub splenda for sugar on some of the recipes. Sounds like you're really in the groove congrats on your successes! I'll be on Oahu on the 4th for my next round of appointments....

WOO HOOO!!!! Everyone seems to celebrate ONEderland, but seriously, where's the love for Twoderville? When I started at 360, Twoderville seemed almost impossible, let alone the elusive Onderland. BUT OMG, here I am at 280 and it's AWESOME!!! Accept the reality, it's REAL and YOU are making it happen!

Are you a Pessimist or an Optimist

I am an optimist. One thing I would like to share with you is an article I read awhile back. When people are going through dementia or Alzheimer reading is one of the last things to go. When your momma asks 15 times on the way to doctor where you are taking her or where she is? Try righting it on a piece of paper. Maybe keep a little notebook in her pocketbook she can take out and read. I don't know if this will help but thought I would try. Good luck to you and her.
