I bought some desert size plates on ebay that are so beautiful and just the right size. When I use them, I get the right amount. In fact, my husband is also using them too. I never want to use the dinner plates anymore.

Day 7 Post Op- Trapped Wind Anyone??

nope its very common..im 3 days post op but everything im reading on here and from what doc says..it can last as long as 2 weeks unfortuantely. the biggest help is moving. I am using gas-x strips that melt on your tongue..that got me releasing some from the "other" end...but the burping is still an issue. I went outside and tossed a small soft ball back and forth my son, and burped more than i have in the last month lol. So moving is the key...i sip everything im having very slow and still have the prob so most likely you arent doing it too fast either. just keep moving..its a pain in the behind, but it will passs eventually

    7 Months Out - Can't lose weight!!

I went through a few months without losing anything, it was very frustrating. It started during the holidays and kind of stuck with me. I feel that most of that stall was because I was eating cakes and whatnot, but when I tried to cut back, I didn't really notice a difference. The nutritionist in my support group says that our bodies need to recover after losing so much weight, so perhaps your body is recovering at the moment. I went through a period of 6 months or so and probably lost 10-20 pounds, not very motivating. On the bright side, at least I didn't gain, which it doesn't sound like you are. Finallyncontrol does bring up a good point thugh, you should keep track of what you eat. I am very bad at writing down what I eat, but if I make an effort, I am at least paying attention to my habits. I had started snacking a lot between meals and that does not bode well. A lot of the times I eat something different from my family, but it is more because I don't want what they are having so I don't feel bad that I "can't" have something. Also, on your excercising, do you do the same routine over and over? I know they say that change is good. At the gym I used to go to they always had a flyer up saying to change your routine if you plateau. I am doing better now and losing around a pound a week or so and it is much harder than it was before, but I feel like I am back on track. All I can say is don't give up because after a 6 month period of doing horrible, I am finally losing again. Oh yeah, I also wanted to say that muscle weighs more than fat, so you should be keeping track of your inches too. Sometimes my weight doesn't really change, but my body fat percent has gone down and I lose inches. I think that is all the advice I can give, but I really want to reiterate DO NOT GIVE UP!!! you can do it!

    7 Months Out - Can't lose weight!!

I am sorry to hear that you are stuck at the same weight loss! I truly believe that every person is different. Sometimes I think those that work out heavily in the gyms do have a harder time losing weight...I know it sounds crazy. In my case I lost 130 lbs in 10 months..the only exercise I did was swim and walk (and not much of that). Yes, you need to have the right fill amount to hit your sweat spot and then it is magic. I never referred to my band as being on a diet. My family and I all ate the same foods. I made a lifestyle change. We ate healthier and I ate smaller portions. I ate protein first and carbs last. I don't eat bread, ice cream or any carbonated items..other than that I eat it..but I eat it in the proper portion or some things I just take a bite of it..to satisfy the craving. Having a positive attitude plays a huge factor in my journey..when I am down I gain a pound..when I am happy..I am spot on (or lost weight). Another thing is we rarely eat out...I cook 98% of our meals. By cooking my own meals I know what I am eating and it tastes better! I use a crockpot a lot..so it is ready whenever I get home. As for a suggestion for you..I know you said you are eating what your dr said to eat..but have you ever logged all of your foods? It might help to log your food for a week and see if there is anything you could change. Maybe you could cut back on your meals...I never ate til I was full..just until I was satisfied..that might help cut back a few calories? Make sure you are waiting 30 minutes before and after your meals for drinking any fluids to ensure you are not flushing out your proteins. I hope something I have said helps a little! I wish you the very, very best! Don't ever give up! Take care!
