okay so the final hours pre-surgery are here... i feel strangely calm... only feel a bit worried over the fact that i did not prepare myself with as much post-op items as others here have, lol... I check in at the surgery center at 6am tomorrow morning... they said surgery (if Dr. shows up on time) will be at 7:30am... and I should be out of the center and at home by 10:30ish... Thank you February Bandsters who post and respond, you've maked life and this new beginning a lot easier to bear, you've helped answer many of my questions (even the ones i never thought of asking), and you've shown a great support for one another and i am blessed to have had you guys in my life these weeks pre-op. I am more then excited to fill you in on my progress post-op, and though this section is for pre-op i hope that we all continue to stay connected.... To all 'losers' thanks for checking in on us newbies and giving us your support and knowledge, i will see you on the otherside soon

My husband has been amazing since I've been banded. When I was in the post-op liquid diet stage, he was very considerate about eating/cooking. He ate a lot of sandwiches so I wouldn't have to smell his wonderful food. As soon I was able to start walking, he joined me. As I started losing weight, he started following my doctor's recommended high protein/lower carb recommendations. He eats the same things I do, but in larger portions. He has lost weight and his diabetes is better controlled. Good luck to both of you!

6 months and a week ago, i had no health problems even with a 47 BMI - BUT i felt so disgusting. I hated clothes. I wore things just to hide myself. I knew I had a pretty face but that all others saw was the fat. Today, 6 months after surgery and 88 pounds later, I feel INCREDIBLE. i am all about what i'm wearing, my make up, I feel just plain unstoppable. I want you to know that yes there can be complications. I have experienced none so far (truly this is thanks to GOD and following my surgeon's instructions) - but they can happen. I am very, very sorry I did not do this 10 years ago (I'm 38). But i cannot dwell on that. This is a LIFE CHANGING thing if you let it be. I truly wish all of you the best of luck in your decision and if you have the surgery - the best of luck on your journey. It TRULY is a journey. God bless us all!!!!

Have fun!!!! I've had my LAST fat tuesday about 14 months ago before surgery. No ore over induldging for me. (unless it's all liquid!)

It's been 2 weeks since I've been committed to treat my band right, after 7 years of being banded. Shameful!! I've been conciously taking smaller bites & superchewing my food. It's ashame that old habits creep back in. I have always inhaled my food. I also started Body By Vi shakes (the shakes that taste like cake). 14 days in the 90 Day Challenge & I lost 6.2 pounds. The best part is I feel really good & when I sub my dinner for a shake, no acid reflux. sleeping through the night is another bonus. No Pepsi's in 14 days & conciously also to drink Water. VERY hard for me. Hope you are being a good Bandster : ).

and for the record....lol....I was just fine before....lol....but extra never hurts in this area....lol....
