    February Bandsters?

I went to my first lapband support group held by True Results. It was very helpful made me feel more confident about my choice to get this done and get started on a new me . The people were great I love my patient advocate Taylor, she's had the band herself for a few years now and can relate to us. The group is generally meant for post surgery clients but I highly recommend going to one pre-surgery, the q&a, real stories of success and hard times, even a males perspective, made it so real.

    What Are You Eating?

I won't be banded till the 20th, but I have been looking at protien items. I think that the light Baby Bell Cheese would be an excellent snack. I can't remember exactly the calorie and protien count off hand, but its on my shopping list, so must not bee too bad!

    Disapproval From Others.

People that haven't researched this always think its easy. They don't knw about fills , the difference between lb and the surgerys for wt loss. And most friends either are jealous and want the surgery, are ignorant to lb or they are afraid that you will change and they will loose you

To Exercise Or Not To Exercise?

Preop I had already been doing an hour of strenuous cardio a day for over a year. My doctor put me on a 500 calorie a day liquid diet; that he planned on me doing for several MONTHS. When I asked how that would affect my work outs he gave me this look "Why would it?" Anyway I did that stupid diet for 5 days and then stopped because I believe I was allergic to the drinks (tingleing in back of throat). I went back to my 2 protein drinks with one low cal protein based meal. So yes he did expect me to continue my workouts on 500 cals a day.

    Hoping For A Fill

That's the craziest thing I have ever heard! I hope you are able to get one tomorrow. I had one yesterday and I had been wanting one since October but she thought I was already full enough. I was surprised too when she told me not to wait another month if this fill still doesn't seem enough! I'm hoping this one works for me! Good luck tomorrow.

    Where Is My Port!!!

I had SILS, so mine is a couple of inches below my belly button. Don't worry, pretty soon you'll miss not being able to feel it (but not the weight!).

You are NOT supposed to take iron unless you are deficient in it. Excessive iron stores in your body especially for men can cause a cardiac arrest. Just take a multi vitamin and it should be enough unless they find you are deficient in a vitamin. Most of the protein shakes are loaded with vitamins.
