Who else is terrified of plastics?!

I had a TT done 6 years ago and I don’t even notice my scar, I can wear a bikini and it still covers it. Best decision I ever made...I have my breast lift and implants with an arm lift scheduled for the 17th of May. I’m not worried about the scars from my boobs but am concerned about the scars from the arm lift, I have done a lot of research and I think I will be more happy with the scar then my cottage cheese wings! Keep us updated, I can t wait to see how it goes.
  4. I drank coffee every day for many years. Before I had surgery (vsg), my surgeon said I only needed to refrain for three months after surgery. He also said that it was wise to quit at least a week before surgery so withdrawal would be done by surgery time, saying, “do you really want to recover from surgery and be sealing with caffeine withdrawal headaches?” I took his advice and am so glad i didnt deal with that after surgery. Sadly i used to drink it so much that i would get a caffeine withdrawal headache even if i missed one day of coffee :(. You cam do it! Im past my three months and had coffee finally yesterday (was afraid itd give me the runs) ... those three months went by quick!

    Birth Control Options

I also have PCOS, so I wasn't on BC before surgery. I just recently had my yearly well-woman appointment and decided to get on BC again since I don't want another child any time soon- if at all. I only have one, but I'm happy with that. My original intent was to get the arm implant because I had a bad experience with the IUD a couple years ago, but she said they see more weight gain with the arm implant and the Depo shot than they do with the pill. So I decided to go with the pill.

    BCBS but employer opted out

I agree with Gradycat. It is not like they cover it but denied you. Then you could appeal. If your employer just choses chooses not to to purchase that coverage you are kind of stuck. So sorry! Maybe ask HR if they would consider adding it next time they purchase their coverage. If enough folks ask maybe they will cover it. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Keep in mind that our daily goal is 60-80 grams of protein a day, not 80, so quit stressing yourself out and know that the upper end will come eventually!
  13. I had to be on a medically supervised diet for 6 months, although they did not dictate how much I had to lose. Over the 6 months I probably lost 15 pounds. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Oh no y'all didn't... I'm the Corny Meme King 😁😁😁😁😁😁
  15. I had my vsg on Monday 22nd and I'm trying so hard to get my liquids in but its weird when I'm sipping water I keep making this gurgling noise lol. Anyone else have this going on? Also how many ounces are you able to get in? I'm not sure what is normal Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Damn girl... Meanwhile tempting the dumping fates 😓
  17. Yes. My insurance required that i be on a medically supervised diet for three months. I had to be weighed monthly and submit progress reports through my dietitian. I guess they wanted proof that i was committed to weight loss and a good investment in my own insurance benefits! I lost 8 lbs. the first month but then gained 5 pounds back in the second (which turned out to be PMS) and then lost 3 in the last month. Despite the yo-yo i was approved. It was frustrating but i paid only $350 out of pocket for everything.

    BCBS but employer opted out

I don't think there's an appeal level there for you if your employer opted out of that specific coverage under your plan
  19. No, I didn't have any requirements for approval other than meeting BMI and comorbidities. I didn't even have to do six months of weight loss management.

    What Counts as Water

Yes, any sugar-free liquid. I even include my protein shakes as liquid intake.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

Consider Protein Water. Premier Protein Water has 20g protein, but counts as water too. I have to add Crystal Light to cut the aftertaste, but it’s been a lifesaver for me.
  22. Mine didn't. The only thing he had me do was the pre-op liquid diet for 5 days to shrink my liver.
  23. My BCBS is through the hospital I work for. The hospital has opted not to pay for bariatric surgery. My question is, who do I appeal to? If I have my doctors send letters, what department or job title do they send it to? The insurance company won't help because they say it is my employers choice. Any suggestions appreciated.

    April 2019 Surgeries!

April 1st sleeve. In soft/solid stage. I find that if I add flavor and light spice to my food I enjoy my food better. For instance I add salsa to canned chicken and really enjoy the taste. Just tried Wendys chili last night and it was yummy. Seeing energy levels get better. Started gym on Tuesday. Overall. I feel like I'm doing well.
