Realize Band Trouble

My daughter, 28, just had her realize band removed after only two months. She could not keep anything down for over two weeks. They did tests, barium in her did not allow for a cat-scan. I had her demand an ultra-sound test for her gallbladder. They took it out, it was bad, but they discovered her band had eroded into her stomach. I would like to know why. Was it the wrong size? Her doctor is excellent and is experienced. It has been a hard for her and her three young children, single mother.

Gastric Bypass Patients

This is listed as a possible problem in the info book that my surgeon has given me. i don't think that it is due to them doing anything wrong - no surgery is risk free.

It says that if it happens they need to remove the band, repair the defect and place a new band in a higher position.
