day 2... how do I fit in protein?

I am post op day 2 and am allowed some full liquids. While they stress getting plenty of liquids and protein, but yet only allowed 2-3 oz at a time, how does one do it? do I worry about protein yet? Also, my gut sounds like a tornado when I take anything in? what's up with that?!:toetap05:

Do what your doc says...just had my NUT appointment today and no, I do not need a lot of protein in Phase I (just a little from skim milk), she said you have plenty of stores of nutrients in your body for a few weeks. She doesn't expect me to meet the full protein requirement until 5-6 weeks out. I don't ever HAVE to drink a protein shake, ever. LOL (sound), yep I've heard lots mention that...usually described as 'gurgling'. -BG

My doc says the gurgling in the lower belly is perfectly normal.

I've had no trouble with the protein intake just eating reasonable Phase 1 low carb foods.

I am 8 days post op and I have not been doing good with my protein shakes. As far as the gurgling, I had that and they had to "unfill" my band some. I had 3.5 cc at time of surgery. My "lower" stomach makes racket and I don't know if it's hunger or what?
