Milk Diet... Day 1 ... 23 days to go!

Hello... its 1:31 PST and I just realized that for the next 23 days, I will be drinking skim milk, and crystal light and water. Im so nervous, and excited at the same time.

I havent been too hungry.. but then again, its just the first day, and its only 1.

Although, Im watching tv, and when people are eating food, or buying groceries.. I am getting a little weak in the knees.

Oh man... How am I going to make it through this....

Hello Elaine

Are you pre or post op? I was uncertain. Either way, you will make it. I went to a discussion group on Thursday and one of things they mentioned is: We should view things as black and white! I took that to heart. No gray areas allowed. It is either good or bad for our continued success. I think no matter what we choose (a wise or unwise act) we should realize that and be willing to accept the consequences. I think that mentality in the weight loss forum - especially anyone considering WLS is imporant. So, tell me more about yourself and where you are on your journey to better health! By the way, cool pic! Have a great day.

Sounds similar to what I did! I got 2 litres of soya milk a day and 400ml of apple juice. I am lactose intolarant so could not have cow milk. I only had to do 7 days though! I did lose a significant amount of weight though even in a week so it was kinda worth it! The longing for food wears of one the hunger subsides I was fine by the surgery. The only down side was (this is prob TMI) the soya milk coated my tounge and no matter how much i brushed my teeth my breath was still awfull, and after a while my urine started to smell like soya milk not nice! I spent about 3 days after the op scrubbing my tounge!

MissWilde,

Hello. Did you take any supplements or protein shakes, etc. during that time? Why apple juice? Was that what was recommended? Any info you can share. Thanks

Hello!

Oh yes I forgot I got a vitamin pill every day too! No protein shakes though! Just the milk and the juice and a water allowance. I figure the juice was seen as a good way to boost my calorie intake, and get in some extra vitamins! I lost about a stone that week though. I had my operation in the UK we have the National Health Service (NHS) it’s paid for by our tax and national insurance. They paid for my op and provided the dietician that gave me the pre op diet. I had to buy so much soya milk the glass shelf in my fridge broke!
