Time to make a change!

Well, I am new to this site and I have recently attended the seminar on the lap band procedure. I am scared to death to be honest . I am 32 years old and have struggled with my weight for many years now. I guess you could say I've hit rock bottom :faint:. I find it hard to play with my kids, I'm embarrased to go out to see old friends, I'm just tierd of the struggle. I decided that I wanted to make a life long change. Any advice I could get would be great. I have a consult scheduled for Aug. 28th. I pray this is the help and the answer I've been looking for. I'm willing and ready to do the work it takes and to make the changes I need to make. I just can't do it alone. I've tried and failed so many times now. I need :help:!

Hi, I'm sassie, I know it's really scary to get started but it is going to be the best thing you can do for yourself. I was banded Jan 15 07, I started at 259 wearing 24/26 clothes. Now August 14 I am 168 and wearing 10's. But just to let you know that is a little unusal to loose that much in the short time so don't get upset if it doesn't go that fast for you. Most in the group I go to on Tuesday's haven't lost that quickly. But I will tell you I do walk a mile or 2 5 days a week and left weight 3 times a week. Not real heavy weights just alot of reps to tone the flab. I've started riding a bike for the first time in 20 years (by the way I'm 50). 90 pounds ago I couldn't ride a bike. Just saying a little exercise goes a long ways but you have to do it. There is lots of info out there good and bad , its gets overwhelming but the bottom line is small pieces and chew chew chew. I eat no fried foods, pretty much I eat fish, fish, fish and some chicken, it doesn't go down as well and vegetables. Oh and another realllllll important item is to make sure you get your PROTEIN IN EVERYDAY WITH OUT A DOUDT. Hopefully I have been some help to you. See ya online.:)

I become banded in 6 days, and I thing the change in eating is what scares me the most. Not because I cant eat certain foods, but I am worried about malnutirtion from not being able to eat. Is there any pattern to pattern to the order of foods that you eat. I dont want to eat a broccoli, and then find myself stuffed and lacking protein
