Just An Introduction..hi, My Name Is Michele.

blogs/blog-0801170001344570458.jpgHi, Everybody, My name is Michele. I am a 43 year old Nurse, living in Athens Ga, and I am waiting with baited breath for my soon to be Surgery on 9/11/12. Just a little info on me and my journey. I have been fat all of my life and like many, if not all of you, been on every diet known to man. I have struggled with my weight all my life and now, like everyone on this forum, have found a way or a tool to let go of the struggle and live a healthy and vibrant life. I have dreamed of the day when I could bend and move my body with freedom and flexibility. And now I can actual see myself thin. I am so excited. I am also very grateful to find a web site to share my experiences and meet others who have or will soon go through the process.

I am going to Northeast Ga Medical Center for the Surgery, Dr. Peter Henderson to preform the surgery.

I'm looking for friends who share this process, please do not hesitate to send me a message. Much Love to You All..Michele

Hi Michelle congrats! I'm also new to the site and find it very helpful but a lot of responses are opinions and experiences. You will be able to determine between the 2 but don't let some comments discourage you. I wasnt really down to have the surgery on my own my mom kept pushing the issue. 2 coworkers and myself decide to make it a team effort and had the surgery together. It all happen so fast. We talked about it in April and in July we were all ready for surgery. I was the scariest one becuz I knew I had to be head strong and I wasn't ready to give up good food! Oh how I love my chicken wings! But when I looked at the example I was setting for my daughter (who is also obese) I knew I wanted to do it for her if not for me! She gave the ok becuz i didn't wanna feel like she was getting cheated becuz I chose to go the easier way and it's my fault she's obese. But she is my biggest cheerleader and @ 14 showing her support for me brings tears to my eyes. She doesn't blame me for her being over weight I blame myself. It's not easy by far it takes dedication and lots of will power and that's speaking from only being 2 Wks post op. I hope all goes well with you and congrats once again!!
