Tomorrow Is A New Year... & 3wks Post-op

Countdown to 2012: This year, 2011, has been an adventure. I spent the first four months doing a fashion internship in NYC, finished my Bachelor's, started my Master's, and I got sleeved. Although, there were many good things to happen, my parent's home foreclosed, due to the economy, which has added a lot of stress and greif to this year. It was one of the hardest things, to lose my childhood home, and have no way of fixing it. I have also yet to find a job in this economy. As the New Year is approaching, I am praying for many blessings and happiness in 2012. I hope that we are all successful on our sleeve journey and in all our future pursuits.

3 weeks post-op update: I am at a STALL!! I have seen this on so many of the December sleevers blogs, that it is kind of comforting knowing that it isn't just me that has stalled. That being said, I am super frustrated with it! It has been at least 8 days and nothing has changed. I know I have not been getting in a lot of protein, but you would think with soooo little calories, that your body would have to lose... apparently not. I bought some protein "shots" today. Hopefully these will help my body to get the nutrients it needs to get through this adjustment. Although they are super sour... they are easier to stomach than any more of those milky protein shakes.

This sleeve has been such an adjustment. My energy level is still super low although my pain level has decreased significantly. I am hoping to regain some energy before my classes start back. I suppose I am making "normal" progress, but I would like this stall to budge and to start feeling like myself again.

I hope all of you are doing well!

Have a safe and blessed, **Happy New Year 2012**!!!

Rachel

You and i sound alike! I am a grad student, and i too stalled at my 3 weeks mark!! :) I thought about buying those shots, i have been using EAS as a filler, but i hate it so i have been mixing it into smoothies. :) Sorry to hear about your childhood home, that had to be very difficult. I am going to add exercise in the hopes to get my energy level up and the losing going. Happy new year! :)

I am 3 weeks out of sleeve surgery. You MUST get your protein in daily, as well as liquids and vitamins. I hated the protein weeks with liquids--yuck! I stuck to it and have lost 20 lbs! I had my surgery 12/6 and am now on soft foods. I am just craving hard boiled eggs, so that's what I'm eating. I also do plain hamburger when I'm out w/cheese and leave off the bread. Works great!

So sorry for you and your family. You know, I feel that we're all just a step away from losing our homes. It's scary time. God Bless and good luck job hunting!

Get some B-12 in. Can be placed under tongue daily. We are very low in B-12 and will remain that way for a while!

I had mine on 12/12/11,so that's 3 weeks today. Ive lost 30 pounds. I just started doing the protien drinks again. I'm doing 15 a day on tread mill and Ive felt really great, except they Knicked my spleen and I have the most horrible pain in my left shoulder, that just makes me cry. They have me taking liquid vicadin, and it does help, but I don't want to become addicted, so I live with the pain a lot of the time.I try not to weigh my self, but I do love it when I just know Ive lost by the way my clothes fit. Even with the pain, I love the new me.

Almost 4 weeks out myself, and I hit a stall for a moment too! I lost 2 pounds over the last week or so, but I finally got cleared to start the gym this week...walking a few miles each day was just not cutting it anymore mentally! ha. I think I am guilty of not getting enough protein, but I have improved on this this week a lot!

We just have to keep going and cheer each other on during the stalls...we will see the scale drop again soon!

Good luck with everything, and I am sending good juju your way for the job hunt!!!
