Almost 9 months since banded.. only have lost about 48lbs...I have had 4 fills. I'm about 7cc in a 14.5 cc band. I'm still feeling hungry, especially in the evenings. I exercise 5-6 times a week. Any ideas? Get a little discoraged when I see others banded around the time as myself are much further along in their weight loss. Guess i thought it would be much quicker. Some weeks a lose nothing others 1-2 lbs. Currently in a slump. I have only lost 5lbs in the last 10 weeks. HELP!

Just think if you do 55 pounds this year and 55 pounds next year you are at 110 - don't know how much you need to lose but that's a great amount of weight loss in a relatively small amount of time. I think you are doing great and do not compare yourself to others it never works. Also, I have a 14 cc band with 9ccs and am pretty tight restriction wise - i did not feel much at 7.5ccs - just wondered if you need a fill to help with hunger?

Pep talk time! Kat, instead of thinking "i have only lost 48 lbs", you need to think, WOW I am 48 lbs lighter. During weight loss our bodies go through periods of plateaus as the recover from the weight loss and adjust to redistribute the weight. Did you take your measurements? I sat at a plateau from June of last year until this past January, I exercised, I ate right most days but the scale never moved. Than in January I got an adjustment and started losing again. Now I lost 15 lbs than in the past 3 weeks I have sat at the same weight, I exercise and eat right and still the scale stays the same. My point is I am losing maybe not as quickly sometimes as i would like but I am not gaining. I know you have only lost 5 lbs in 10 weeks but you didn't gain. Also as we lose large amounts of weight it becomes harder and harder to drop the weight and the less you have to lose the slower it comes off. Please do not become discouraged, discouragement can sabotage our journey. Keep doing what your doing and take pride in your success to date, reward yourself with a new outfit or piece of jewelry for your accomplishments. Be happy with yourself and believe in yourself, you will get there in time. Good luck I know you will be successful.

im almost 7 months out and I have only lost 20 lbs, i get discouraged and frustrated but we need to realize that we are all different and we all lose weight differently. 48lbs is great, i lost 25 before surgery but only 20 since surgery, maybe there is something with a plateu after closing in on that 50 lb marker, keep your head up as i am trying to do myself and remember 48lbs is a small child that you are no longer carrying around. god bless and good luck

it took me a year to lose 60lbs. and at first i was discouraged until i looked at my before picture and compared it to my one year picture.... Then i saw it.... the newer me and i liked what i saw. I never saw it in the mirror, but i saw it in pictures. Go back and look at your before and look at where you are now.... Like Love said... don't think... I ONLY lost 48lb... think I lost 48lbs and i will never see them again.

48lbs that's an average of 5.3 pounds per month... that is right on track. One more thing. I went to my plastic surgeon and he told me that it's best to lose slow like i did because the skin goes back better.

Stop comparing your self to others. It will drive you crazy. Every one loses differently. If you are still not happy with your weight loss, look at what you are truly eating and are you giving 100% at the gym. Just because you are going does not mean you are giving it your all....

48 pounds is awesome! Just think what your weight could possibly be today had you not had the surgery! That's what I was constantly telling myself when I was frustrated at my slow beginning too! But one year out and I am happy. You will get there, it's not a race, it's not a competition!
