What The Heck Happened To Me?

First of all, it's been so long that I've been on this forum, I don't even remember writing a blog so long ago....wow! It's so sad that I kind of fell off the earth after March of 2007. Well I'm back and I'm going to be blogging every day! I don't care if no one reads this or everyone reads this I need all the support I can get!!!!

So today was the first day I was really HUNGRY!!! After being completely unfilled two weeks ago, and then filled last Monday with only 1.75 ccs in a 4 cc band, I was thinking to myself "oh I may be in the green zone I'm not hungry between meals" YEAH RIGHT!!! My stomach is growling so loud I could wake up the dead (I work down the hallway from a morgue in a healthcare facility so it could happen lol). Also my boyfriend took me out to dinner for our anniversary (one year) to a sushi restaurant, and I ate a LOT of sushi, so not proud of that, but it was good. I'm not eating lunch until about 2pm or so since I'll eat dinner late.

And also with this blog I'm going to write (type?) down everything I put in my mouth. This may get boring since I eat the same thing almost every day, but here goes nothing:

Early AM-1 cup skim milk

1 scoop pure protein powder

B (9am)-1 container of peach chobani yogurt

1 T Bearnaked protein power granola

1 T yogurt covered raisins

L (2pm)- 4 oz of baked shrimp (jumbo size)

1/2 cup green bean casserole (soooo tired of this if anyone has creative vegetable side dishes please comment!!!)

D (7pm)- 4 oz of baked shrimp

1/2 cup green bean casserole

Post Gym Snack (who knows what time?)-2 tablespoons trail mix

45 minutes on the elliptical at the gym

I find it so funny about what I used to ate right after I got banded and how the rules have changed I guess. It seems like now the majority is 3-4 oz of protein, then a half cup of veggies then if you have room carbs, I'm so not interested in carbs anymore....

I was thinking the same thing....I am newly banded...only 5 weeks out and I have lost 24lbs. I have just been eating things in moderation and exercising. The band isnt about dieting persay. Its about portion control and satisfaction. Dont limit yourself too much because it will be that much harder later on. You wont b interested in those foods everyday. I applaud your effort for a healthier you because its sooo hard to make the transition from our preband food to our post band food choices :) Dont be so hard on yourself!

Thanks for your comments first of all!!! I think right now since I only have 1.75 ccs in my band its definetly below what I had before which was 2.00 ccs. Trust me, during the weekend, I pretty much eat everything I want but I can hear the trigger to stop eating (like a yawn) I just like to eat portable things during the week so I can bring them to work or wherever I'm going.

After I wrote this blog, my hunger went away and you know what it was? I think I was thirsty more than anything, so I got a big cup of water and that helped. I had my lunch but didn't finish it because I wasn't really interested in it anymore (so tired of green bean casserole!). Seriously, if I could eat chobani yogurt for all of my meals for the rest of my life I would!

Also with all the shrimp eating, I made a huge batch the other night I just want to go through with it so it doesn't go bad....can you freeze already cooked shrimp???

This weekend I'm making corned beef and cabbage for my boyfriend, I've never made it before say a prayer or send a good thought my way because I don't know how that'll turn out. I'm probably going to divide up the leftovers for lunch and dinner for next week, just to change up the food routine. On Monday I go back for another fill so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks again :)

I refreeze shrimp all the time, just make sure when you defrost it not to overcook it because it can get rubbery in a hurry. So far as veggie side dishes, here's one of my favorites:

1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced

1 large tomato, diced

3-4 stalks green onion

4 oz crumbled feta cheese

1 Tb. olive oil

1 Tb. lemon juice

1/4 to 1/2 tsp. dill (depending on how much you like dill)

Stir all ingredients together and refrigerate for at least one hour. This makes enough for several servings.

It's really yummy in the summer, and could really be a light meal. I got the idea from the Weight Loss Surgery Cookbook For Dummies. I'm still pre-band, but wanted to make sure I could fix things that would taste good and still meet my high-protein requirements.

You can do this, I know you can! smile.png

I'll be honest I'm a lazy cooker. If you came to my house you would see binders of recipes but I'm just not interested in food anymore, so I make what's easy. Green bean casserole is easy to make, so is baked shrimp so I do it.

Last night I made those party meatballs with the chili sauce and cranberry sauce and kind of scooped out the meatballs without the sauce and had that last night for dinner.

Thanks for letting me know I can freeze shrimp!

Caribear thanks for the recipe, as of late I hated tomatoes, but recently I've learned to like them if I scoop all the "meat" out on the inside lol.

Also I think this weekend I'm going to go to Big Y and get stuff to make portobello mushroom pizzas.

@insanejane there is a recipe floating around this forum for a "pizza" recipe without crust/bread. Basically you take shredded cheese and sprinkle it on a pan, which would be your "crust" then you add your toppings.

Try the portobello mushroom pizza it's so good! I love portobello mushrooms though
