How do you deal with negative people?

See those neg people just wanna get where u r really they hate themselves but look u do what u need to do to get healthy. i wish i haven't told certain people because first thing they say is Why u gonna do that just go to the gym well that explains y there ass is spreading People

Yep what they said! You just kill them with kindness and a great big ole smile! You got this and you will show them! Im sure once they see how well you are doing they will be asking more positive questions and looking into it more. SHAME ON THEM! Good luck to you.

good luck to you, don't listen to them is right..........I am 60 and had the band done 9 months ago and so happy I did it. When a young man friend told me yesterday how great I look and I am doing so great dieting..........I was so proud I thought I would burst. Yes, I am on a diet but the only thing is I have a tool that helps me diet but I still am on a diet and have to watch what I put in my mouth. And by the way, this friend does know I had the lapband.

I agree , those who are talking trash are jealous of the willpower you are showing and the courage you have taken to start your journey. Not everyone is a like...I was banded 8/19 and have lost about 18 pounds since my banding. I wish it was more, but everyday I just keep thinking how I did not put the weight on overnight so it won't come off overnight.

You just stick to your guns and think how envious they will all be when you are lean and healthy.

Those who can have the lapband, those who can't, criticize.

Just think how good it is going to feel when you get to your target weight and are looking sexy/hot and wearing super cute clothes... They are going to be green with envy. You will most likely see another one going to get banded.. No worries...

I got a lot of that before I was banded to. Once they see the weight loss and you handling it pretty well the comments pretty much stop or are very minor. You just keep doing what you're doing and try to stay positive!

Funny... one of the girls that told me it's the easy way out just had surgery last week. She's trying to hide it but everyone already knows lol. She's like 340 lbs I THINK we'll start to notice a difference at some point.

I totally agree with this post. Most are jealous because they wish they could afford/qualify for the surgery. Then there are ones that look at it as as an easy way out. They have no idea what we go through. I would just keep doing what youre doing and let them hate!

i decided to only tell a very few select people about my band. those that had something negative to say i just no longer discuss it with them PERIOD! this my journey and no one else. EVERYBODY ELSE CAN JUST KICK ROCKS!!!
