My Husband and I will both be Banded 1/11/11....

This is my first blog.. I have been on several times reading and learning. My husband and I are both getting banded together on 1/11/11. I have so many questions on what to do and not to but that will take all day. I get so many conflicting answers on how many days liquid to puree to solids. Hope someone has some really good suggestions. I'm not much on exercise my life is just so bussssy. I'm hoping to be able to lose weight just being banded and watching everything I put in my mouth. I will try to walk as much as possible. Any other suggestions in getting in exercise.

Just go by what your doctor recommends and you will be fine. The time really does fly by. Congralations on your banding! I was just done September 30th, 2010. I have to make exercise fun. I have Zumba at home and also Wii....which, has LOTS of fun things to do on it.

biggest piece of advice is to follow your doctors instructions. I was on a 2 week liquid diet pre op, banded 12/30 now i am on a more strict liquid diet for 2 weeks, then a little thicker liquids 2 weeks and in Feb i can have food!!! Your gonna have to get up and move find 30 mins a day a few days a week, i wish you the best of luck. I am tired, the gas hurts the worst, but at this point ZERO regrets.

Good luck to you both! I am also getting banded soon - Jan. 17. I am also overwelmed at times by all the info you have to take in. I guess my best advise to you is just take it one day at a time. That is what I plan on doing. :)

I agree that you should just follow the directions of your doctor. I know it is different and varies doctor to doctor. However, he know your medical history and will be able to give you the best advice. I did have a few regrets those first few days on liguids. It did pass. Now it is just a blurry memories. However, I am now 5 months out and have loss 53 lbs....no regrets. I was better after I could add the "mushy" foods and move on to real food. Good luck to both your husband and you!

Thanks for all the well wishes. It is exciting but you cant help but be a little nervous. Do you find you really are restricted to certain foods or has the smaller portions help you lose the weight. How about exercise do you work out daily?

Thanks, I worry about the nausea myself since I get nauseated easily by not eating and coke is the only thing that helps me and I cant have soda's for awhile. Did you get something for the nausea? Are you still on liquids?
