Depressed

I don't know whether I am truly depressed or if I am just going through withdrawals. I got banded on 4/1/10 and today I am hungry. I can't stand to be in my kitchen and I probubly wont start cooking again until next month, when I can eat solids.

I am schedule for my first fill on the 14th but I am tempted to go in before then. My husband thought that me being hungry was all in my mind, but it's not. My stomach is growling. Does anyone else feel this way?

Yes I had that and like it too. I think this is telling one your loosing. Keep a strong attitude and stay in control. Eat enough protein foods 60 to 80 grams a day if possible. Drink water too. Try sugarless popsicles, jello, or pudding. Good luck. I love it when I hear my stomach growling, sometimes you can hear it across the room, hehehehee.

Girl it is not all in your head. The band is in place, but once the swelling goes down there is no restriction until it has been filled. So, yes you will still not be able to eat a lot, but of course you will be hungry at times. For me I didn't get a fill for 6 wks and it was hard...not as hard as before the band, but not easy. Now, it's great! Don't worry it will get better.

I am right there with you! I was banded on March 29th. I am hungry, depressed, emotional. I was instructed to do strictly fluids and protein shakes until this friday (4/09). I am starving and taking it out on everyone. Its really hard but i know it will get easier!! Hang in there and I will do the same. Just think of all the weight we are going to lose!!

I was banded 3/31, and am pretty much "satisfied" with a protien shake or a cup of soup. I want to eat, because of my mental games, but really don't feel like eating. My insides are making noises like you wouldn't believe...but I think it's gas? You're lucky Jilly29...I am on liquids until 4/21 and then MUSHIES for another 2 weeks. Can't eat solids until May 12!!
