Guess who is down 17lbs pre-surgery?

I have one more appt before I can apply for approval, I am down 17lbs which I am proud of, and now I am getting....

"can't you just keep doing it on your own?"

Uh. No. Or I would have a LONG time ago.

I don't know how to make others understand.

I only shared my decision to do this with my Mom & my hubby. However I wished I never told my mother. She's the elderly Italian mother that thinks that I'm not fat I am just healthy...ha ha. She continually reminds me on the good old days on how skinny I was before my baby was born, and how I ran 4 miles day...the truth is my "baby" is 14 years old and I can't run to the buffet without breathing heavy... I have learned real quick not to share my journey with family & friends that think that we some how are giving up to choose this path. Congrats on the 17lbs weight loss! I too am almost finished my appointments and hopefully ready to apply for approval. Good Luck !

Woo Hoo! Thats great! I too got that question MANY times over. My response came from my husband: I've lost many times with different diets and gained back that and more. With the band.....I have the tool to continue the loss and keep it off!" People just don't understand! Good Luck! I was banded 2/4/2010.........pre surgery 317 and now 308.....1st fill scheduled for the 8th of March.
