i just wondering, how much of your max out of pocket did you pay the day of surgery?

Hi, my entire amount will be due two weeks before the surgery. My initial doctor consult requires $300 up front, the $150 for the psych thing (good lord I'm crazy yet too and have to pay to be told of such) hehehe. . . the labs also are a separate cost.

I'm out $18000, all due a week or two before surgery.

In addition to specialist copays at $45 a pop and my $200 deductible, I'll be paying approximately $2,000 for the surgeon and hospital. This is my max out-of-pocket. I consider it a bargain because I was planning on spending $16,000 to $18,000 on it if I hadn't gotten insurance approval.

Is the out of pocket costs for the actual surgery all paid upfront before surgery? Mine is about $1200 out of pocket but am not sure when I have that due yet.

I had to pay 170 upfront to the surgical clinic. And 250 copay for the surgery
