Hi Pammie, hi Nicole, everybody - I have to get back on track!!!! I have gained 50 lbs back :-(

Hello Everyone! I think we all could use a little bit of help.

I am completely out of control....I eat what I want. I drink what I want. I am not exercising and going alll down hill.....

I need help. I met w/ my Dr. In November and we decided I was too tight. Thus the problems I was having getting food past the band. Even healthy proteins were getting stuck. I was miserable. I previously had 6cc's. He removed one quarter of a cc (.25cc) and I felt instant relief. I could eat and not get stuck..... Then the unhealthy eating began... From Thanksgiving on....to Christmas....and now I am ready to get it together and lose these last 20lbs.

I am currently 189lbs... I would love to lose 10lbs this month.... I am scheduled to see the good Doctor at the end of January.... I can not go there at the same weight or greater.....

I would love to lose another 10lbs by the end of February....... Can I do it? Will I do it? What can I do to motivate myself? What can we do to motivate each other. We are struggling here????

Tomorrow! I vow to write down everything I eat....Be it good or bad....I figure I must start some where!

We all my check in more. MAYBE checking in will give us added accountability.

Let's do this Richmond!!! We have to remember why we started this process.

I need positive feedback and support and I know you do too. Let's help each other........

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!

Mo, i totally hear you. I have been out of control for over a year. I just can't seem to find my way back. My band is still good but I can eat anything as well.

We have to find something that motivates us. Right now I am not motinated to do anything and that's sad.

I hope that i can resume posting again if nothing at all for the support that we give each other. hopefully this year will be good for us all :-).

Reggie

Reggie, Mo, Riley and All,

Well I got back on the scale Tuesday and it wasn't pretty. Since my big unfill July 1st I have gained 35+ pounds. I decided to update the ticker and be honest. I am really disappointed in myself and want to get this back under control. It is very much a head problem with me - I eat for all the wrong reasons. I still believe in the band as a tool to help maintain. I am thinking of emailing Dr. Park and owning up to what has happened to see if she will consider doing another fill. I am so glad Nicole is organizing us for a walk/lunch in a few weeks. Not that I am happy to see other people struggling, but I feel better knowing I am not alone.

cyber hugs to all of you.

I miss you ladies! I can't wait for the walk/lunch!

Hello All, I hope everyone is well. I see no one has posted since January. i have a question for you all has or is anyone experiencing pain in their shoulders? I have been experiencing this and very uncomfortable i must say.

I wish you all well. Please let me know how you are all fairing.

Love,

Reggie

I just wanted to come by and say hello! In reading back I see that some of you were having some difficulty at the beginning of the year. I hope it's gotten easier! Are any of you on ObesityHelp dot com? I think it's a great place for support and the have a band forum as well.

I am doing good with my sleeve. I finally got to goal, then went to Mexico in December for full body plastic surgery. I love the results but it's a long healing process.

Mo, the Contra Costa group still meets for lunch. I get there every few months. It's moved to a new location. Come sometime!

Take care everyone,

Lee

Hello Everyone

I've been contemplating Lap Band Surgery for over a year now. I finally spoke to my doctor about it and was referred to Richmond Kaiser for the overview class. I'm very excited and terribly anxious about this surgery. Is this the right thing!? All I know is that I'm at my heaviest weight (285) and I feel I need I medical intervention at this point. I've yo-yo dieted most of my life and I just want to put the effort in and finally meet my goal, and feel good about it. I'm tired of working so hard and only being able to lose 30-50lbs and keep the weight off for 6 mos to year tops.

Anywho, I thought I would say hi. I'm looking for support and guidance on this process through Kaiser. How was your experience? Who are the most supportive doctors? Can you tell me more about the process through Kaiser and how long it is say from the overview class to surgery?

Thx for responding! Hope to meet you soon.

Hey! I'm adding in to your topic as i'm interested as well. I'll be taking my overview class hopefully monday at Kaiser in South San Francisco.

I'm also interested in how the process works at Kaiser and how long it takes.

Cheers!!! :D

I am new too!

I am taking my class in Richmond Kaiser on August 14th!

I am really excited but also terribly anxious!

I didnt realize the process before actual surgery takes this long!

Ok...so...WHERE THE HELL IS EVERYBODY?????

We have been missing for far too long!!! I was just wondering how everyone is doing. Please chime in!!!!

I am doing well. I need to get myself together though. I saw the good Dr. last month and had a fill. I now have 3cc's in my band. I have good restriction and horrible will power!!! HELP!!!! I look good/fine but still never made it to GOAL! My Dr said I'm doing good compared to his other mand patients. What the heck does that mean??? I have no idea how others are doing???????

We need to PLAN and STICK to a walk and or LUNCH...Cuz I know we can EAT!!!! We just need to talk!!!!

Hi Mo,

All is well with me. I have not lost but rather gained and I am back to 312lbs. The main problem is eating protein for me, it gets stuck and morever gas gets the best of me. I have become a sugar junky, which i never was pre surgery. it goes down easy so i eat cookies and all that is not good for me. In my head I know it ios not good and in all reality i think i am eating less calories that i should be taking in. I need to keep a food diary and get back to basics but can't find the motivation to do so. if i can get back to 270 i will be happy. I am soooo glad that you chimed in. I miss you all dearly.

Best regards,

Reggie

Also for the veterans of LB are you experiencing any gas pains in your shoulder? i do and it takes hours to get rid of it  . Please share if you have.

Monica and Reggie!!!

Long time.

I lost 50 pounds with the band and not a pound more. I was down 65 for about a week but ended u in the ER so that didn't go to well. I did feel skinny though. Dehydrated and hungry but skinny for sure!!

The last two years I have remains at 50 down. I go up and down about 5 pounds but stay in the general 50-55 pounds lost. My band won't let me gain which is good. I will PB if I eat to much. I think I am eating some of the wrong stuff. Most of it the right stuff. But I think exercise is what is doing me in. I have to believe it is more that because I don't eat alot.

I lost my health insurance about 8 months ago. I just started a new job and get my insurance back in November. The stress of my old job just about did me in and I was on disability for 6 months. Just got off and now on to an easier job with no overtime.

I am going to get a fill once I get my health issurance back. Hopefully in Elk Grove this time!!

I am down 17 pounds since the last fill but was to scared of the ER to go back for another fill.

Now two years later I am ready to try again. I think I am getting my motivation back again!!

If I end up in ER again than on to the sleeve for me!!! LOL
