Hey old friends! I also regained too much weight. I had the sleeve 3 years ago and never got to goal weight. I did find the sleeve was really working for me while I was pregnant though. Something ab

Hey Jes,

I'm really interested in what Reggie's issues are? Reggie, girl? Where are you? I am scared to regain the weight. I might email the good Dr. tomorrow. I know I do not eat right! I eat everything! I love soups and salads the most....Sliders, I know! Unfortunately, I started in on them last year when I was tight, having stuck issues, and was very frustrated. I think I am ready to get back to business...We have to remember, we did not do this for nothing. It's a lifestyle!!!!f

Mo-I had no idea that mine had eroded I thought because I gained weight from the baby I was just tight. But I was basically throwing up /PBing everything I would eat even sliders which is the opposite of erosion but at the same time I felt like I was always hungry and and couldn't eat enough. So when I went in and had the upper GI done they saw I had a hiatal hernia which was causing me to throw up and the band had eroded which is what was attributing to be weight gain and intense hunger. So when they offered me the sleeve I took it. I'm so glad I did. 4 weeks post op and I'm down 32 lbs. I spent two years being miserable with the band not being able to eat and always being hungry. It was a losing battle for me.

So glad to see all of you on here!

Hi Riley, Hi Canolie! I just went back and saw your posts. I did not receive an email notification that there were new posts.

Riley, it's good to hear from you. I would love to go for a walk....

Canolie, congratulations on your new addition.

Heather, congratulations to you too.....More baby power!

After reading your posts, I definitely need to contact the DR.I hope I do not need it removed due to erosion..... UGH!!!!!

Okay....I sent my Dr an email.....The wait begins.

Ask for an upper GI. I forgot to mention. I had gained all of my weight back plus 6 lbs and found out I was pre diabetic again even eating the right things! I have anthem blue cross now so from the day I met my new dr the end of October to my surgery date of December 17th my band was out. They don't keep it in long after they see its eroded so if it is mo be prepared to decide what you want to do. I would research it all again so you know your options. :)

Hey girls! Wow have not seen many of you in years! Well I'm rny now. As of last year. My band slipped and I vomited alllll the time literally 8-10 times a day. I'm now down to almost goal tho. But it's hard. It's so nice to see allll your names its a reminder of how far we came and our motivation we should plan a get together!

Hey everyone! It sounds like everyone is on the same boat with the band. Well let me tell you all I regret the band. I had it removed last year due to it getting disconnected..yeah prettyu much the tube was floating in my stomach dr baggs said I was very lucky that I didn't damage my spleen or something else. I have not been the same. I am very sensitive to foods, I get so much heartburn..my side where the port was is so painful...baggs said it would be a few years before the pain goes away due to the scar tissue. Im back to my weight I was presurgery maybe 10lbs less. But I am very swollen on my upper stomach not sure why. Unfortunately this happened to me..but I was told it was very rare. Getting a revision wasn't an option..I was so scared I just wanted it out..I didn't realize how quickly the weight came back :(

Like Carolie btw I'm not kaiser anymore I hear hey are hard for revision.....

I'm so sorry some of you are having a hard time that is so hard:(. Do u still have kaiser?

Hey Y'all!!! Monique I'm here! I had a difficult time eating anything including water. That was the breaking point when water was a problem. I also had severe acid reflux. I ended up pneumonia. It was awful. I've managed to keep 20lbs off pre surgery weight. RNY is an option for me but I am so scared.

Nicole, how are you doing with RNY? I am so scared maybe you can shed some light for anyone considering it like myself :-).

Well I was scared. Kaiser makes everyone freak about nutrition deficiencies. I do not take any special Vitamins at all. Just my once a day. I recommend it. However it's no easier then my band to loose weight. :/.

I was super sick after sammmi my blood pressure would not go down the surgery saved me in many ways I'm off blood pressure meds:). Don't be scared of rny...

I have had some complications... Mainly with scar tissue but that's it. They have to widen my esophagus bc all the scar tissue in my body.

What are your fears I'll try to help:)

Good luck on the email Mo. Keep me posted ! Congrats Heather on the baby!!!!!!! When I was prego with my sleeve I had a lot more restriction too. Any non Kaiser's know of any trusted Bariatrics doctors in the Bay Area ? I'm now Blue Cross PPO.

Hey Everybody!

Maria~Wow, I'm so sorry. How scary? What do you mean "sensitive to foods"?

Nicole~I wonder if RNY is an option for me. I failed to mention I have gained 20lbs since May 2014 (in 8 months or so). I did try for 10....but not 20! I do need to have my plan ready. I see the DR. Monday.

Reggie~I sent you a message. I am a little afraid of the other procedures too.

Ashley~I miss you. We need a whooping!!! Can I have wine wine mine?

I called and scheduled an appointment on Monday. The Dr ordered an upper GI too. I have to call and schedule it tomorrow. I am getting scared but understand it may be best to take it out. Question??? I currently weigh 185lbs. I need to lose 15-20lbs to be back to goal. I'd be okay with the 15... Would they do a sleeve on me with so little weight to lose?
