37 Days to go and nervous!

As of today I have 37 days left until my surgery date of June 16th. I need to lose 6 lbs before June 2nd or my surgery will be cancelled, ugghh.... so I am basically doing my liquid Protein diet a bit early and excercising to lose this weight in time for the weigh in.

I am excited, nervous, nauseaus, thrilled and anxious all at the same time. I want this surgery so badly and I can't believe that it is within my immediate future.

Every day I wake up and worry - oh no what if the insurance company reverses their decision? what if I don't lose the weight in time? blah blah blah, my typical anxiety ridden emotions pouring forth.

Thank you to any one who reads this, I just have so much pent up emotion and there are not a lot of people in my "regular" world who get how nervous I am or how happy I am about this surgery :thumbup:

Your anxiety is normal, especially since you have the added pressure of losing weight before surgery. Just stick with what you're doing and you should do very well. Before you know it, worrying about your weight will be the farthest thing from your mind.

Good luck!

hang in there it,s gonna be alright i have until maybe october i don,t know yet how about we worry together. i,ve often wondered the same thing what if you don,t lose will it affect the operation sill

hey babbs, it sounds like you're doing great and you're on the right path!

Hi there...I am having my band on Thursday and started my liquid diet one week ago and have already lost eight pounds...I am excited and nervous too. I am afraid of being sick and a bit about the surgery but am so looking forward to feeling better physically, emotionally and socially as I have suffered in this body.

Best, Kathleen

A good way to lose some weight before surgery is to drink liquid Protein for one meal a day. I know that many are instructed to drink Slim-Fast but I was told that it does not contain enough protein and you often end up hungry. I used a product called Isopure that is available from GNC (you can also it online at their website). One bottle is 40 grams of protein (2 meals). So what I would do is drink 1/2 bottle everyday for lunch. It cost $4.69/bottle in my area which sounds expensive until you realize that it really means that you are spending about $2.35/day for lunch (which is a lot cheaper than junk food). Also you can get a zero carb ISOPure which helps you even more! If you drink 1/2 bottle in place of one meal, you will never be hungry at all!

Also, unjury (they also have a website) has a chicken broth powder you can get which is excellent. One serving (in place of a meal) has 21 grams of protein and 1 carb. It will also knock out your hunger.

I highly recommend either of them.

The other thing I did was stop eating after dinner. I never thought I was a much of a snacker until I actually decided to stop eating after I finished dinner. Then it hit me where all those empty calories were coming from!

If you follow a plan something like this you shoud have no problem losing the weight you need to before surgery.

Yes, the surgeon will cancel the surgery if the weight is not lost - so, you can bet I am not going to let that happen
