I'm BANDED!

Hi everyone. I'm still real sore and with every move it feels like I'm pulling or tearing someting so I'm going to make this brief. Yesterday I had my surgery at approx. 1:30 ish. I remember getting wheeled in the hallway to OR then they put some "stuff" in my IV and that was it. I woke up in recovery still drugged, throat killing me and begging for pain meds. Got to my room, slept off and on all night mostly off though, lol. Had upper GI this moring (the crap you have to drink for that is soooooo disgusting:scared2: ) no leaks and Dr. said everything looks great so I was released from Hospital. I have read on here how people go back to work in like 2-3 days. OMG I guess I am a huge baby but there is no way I could. I'm in pain especially where my biggest incision is. It drained a lot too. The pain liquid stuff I'm on helps to take the edge off but I still feel everything.

I am so glad they made me stay the night in the hospital and so glad it's over. Oh and with all the IVs and gas and stuff I gained 6 pounds in hospital.

Sooo....where are the other 3/3 banders at????

Thanks for all your well wishes! :smile2:

I guess I was still out of it! I meant to start this thread in Post-banded. Maybe if a mod see's this they can move it for me.

Congrats!!! I get banded tomorrow morning! My consult was 1/4/08, Insurance approved 2/13/08. My work has a great plan. Good luck on your healing!

WOW Congratulations! Won't be long till your ticker runs to the right

I was banded on 2/27 and had a similar experience. Here I am almost a week later and still not feeling great. I had a post op visit today and everything is healing ok. My doc decided to take me off the pain meds because I have been very nauseous. Last night I was really regretting my decision to do this. I hope that feeling goes away.

Wow! You did great! I mean, look at what you've been through...it is like I'm on one side of the fence watching the big kids play and you are on the other side with them.

I had an open hysterectomy last summer, so I know the first few days are rough but you will heal quickly I'm sure!

Hang in there...I'm still waiting for an approval and date . . so for me you have leapt the highest hurdle! Keep strong and walk when you can.

Keep us informed...Best Wishes

I am happy for you. You are officially a Bandster now. I am still waiting approval from my insurance for the referral so I have a looong way to go. Most people on this forum are sooo inspiring. Good luck to you in your new banded journey. Keep us posted on how you are doing:thumbup:

Congrats to you, hon! I'm still a bit sore, too, so you aren't alone. :biggrin2:

Congrats....!!! Hi, I am schedualed for surgery 3/7/08 with Dr. A. I feel pretty prepared, but is there anything you can tell me that I might not know. Like my surgery is friday, stay in hospital friday night, saturday night, go home sunday and back to work on Monday. I'm in the "transportation business" so I sit "most" of the time. so,......

Hi I'm 4 days post op and feeling great. surgery was friday feb 29th, and on sunday walked 3 hours at the mall in tj and today made 4 kms at ducks walking path. I'm a bit sore. I also got gas pills in mx and they work great, but still a lot of gas and bloating. I'm so glad i did this. no weight loss yet, but I'm ok with that.
