I think I might explode!!

I was banded 6 days ago and I have so much gas in my stomach that I can hardly stand it. It feels like I have swallowed a sponge that has swollen. :D I can not stomach the idea of taking in anything but water at this point, I even went to the ER this weekend with dry heaves and stomach cramps. Has anyone had this problem? What can I do? HELP!!!!

walk, walk, walk, it will relieve the gassy tummy. drink slowly.

I felt the same way...rest and gas x strips are what saved me!! After the gas went down, then I was able to walk!

Hope your feeling normal soon!

Hi Brandymom1234

I have had my first band adjustment 4 days ago and have been having the same problem. I cannot eat any solid food without it getting caught in my throat and the only way i can get relief is to bring it back up. I am also worrying that maybe the band is too tight. The cramping and wind is also quite bad. I am going to ring the dr and find out if this is normal. I will let you know what he says.

I feel for you and know what your going through.

talk soon

The walking wasn't working, but I think that I am finally getting a little bit better. I still can't stand the thought of "eating" anything. I tried to drink some milk last night, won't do that again for awhile. I guess this too shall pass. thank you for your advice.

I understand what u are going through. The gass and the bloated feeling is overwhelming. I went back to work today and had to leave a hour early nd the only thing that helped was to lay on my stomach with a heating pad and take a nap. It helped, but I still feel bloated. Good luck to you. I am 7 days post op. I know your pain!!! Dazzle
