  1. I had a port leak. I had my port replaced no problem it was a really fast heal. Good luck with your surgery.
  2. Best wishes with the new bambino.
  3. Sounds like you need an unfill.
  4. I had my lap band installed in Mexico in 2008. I have a fill Dr. here in Calif. In January I started to increase my food portions and started to gain weight. (All Bad.) I waited untill July to visit my Dr. He tried to unfill me to see how much fill I had I was empty. The Dr. tried to use a sticky substance to close up my leak no luck. A week later California Dr. replaced my port and tubbing. I have had 4 sm fills since surgery now I am up to 4cc's and have restriction and have started to lose the 20 lbs I gained. My insurance covered all costs.
  5. Hi Mum, As you can see by my sticker I needed to get back on the wagon. I gained 20 lbs due to stress. Take a look at your slim pictures. I looked at mine and was shocked how much diferance 20 lbs can make when you are close to goal. I got back on the wagon a week ago. I am going in for port revision surgery 7/7/11. I went in for a fill and we discovered I have a leak in my port. Now I know why I gained so much weight. ~Sandy~
  6. Hi Ladies, I am also having surgery on 7/7/11. I am scheduled for a poet revision. I was a self pay 3.5 years ago. This surgery will be paid for by my insurance. Last week I went to get a fill and we discovered I have a leak in my port no fault of mine it just happends sometime. I know what to expect with surgery but you still get a little anxious. I know you girls will do wonderful. Just do as your doctor orders. ~Sandy~
  7. You are off to a god start. Keep up the good work. I did not notice I lost weight untill I saw a picture of myself.
  8. :thumbup:Hey girl...you know what to do. just a reminder keep your daily food journal. eat slow, eat 60-70 grams of protein everyday, drink your H2o about 64 oz's a day. no unscheduled snacks. The weight won't fall off on it's own. you can do what it takes. You may want to join a gym or walk with friends. Dr. Oz's says to walk 10,000 steps a day. A good plan is to start your plan the night before. plan your meals and your snacks and exercise. God Bless you. Sandy:thumbup:
  9. Way east bay...wine country in Livermore.
  10. Hi I go to Dr. McKeen for my fills. I had surgery in Mexico about 18 mo. ago. When I found Dr. McKeen I knew I would use him for my fills the staff is wonderful with followups and are very carring.
  11. I went to Mexico about 18 mnths ago. I was also a 31 bmi. I am almost at goal. You know when you need a fill when weight loss stops and you are hungry. Good Luck.
  12. I have been down the too tight road for 4 months. I finally got a 1cc unfill yesterday. As my Dr. says this is not an exact science. If you find yourself on a diet of ice cream and hot chocolate its time for an adjustment. Don't wait as long as I did. I'm suprised I did'nt gain all my weight back.
  13. If I ate one candy bar I would eat 10 candy bars better to stay candy free. No portion control when it comes to candy.
  14. Find something else to do...check out a good movie.

Benedict.. You are really doing quite well for your first adjustment. I remember my "first" fill. I fainted dead away the sight of that sword of a needle was more than this yank could deal with. Keep up the good work, and do let us know haw you are getting on with the dredded dragon.
  21. take a deep breath...in a couple of months all this will have passed. dd will have her first job...ds will be running around the track...and dh will still be yackety yacking. and you will be loving your life as mom. best wishes with your band.
  22. I gave up coffee before surgery so I wouln't get my coffee headache. That was 14 months ago. I don't miss it at all. I have taken up H2o as much as I can drink. I have never felt better. Giving up my morning coffee was like going cold turkey. It was almost like when I quit smoking. We are such creatures of habit. I am afraid to start eather coffee or smokes. I am such an addictive personality.
  23. Good advice...I will try to do better, and be more positive. Thanks for the post.
