    Can't keep anything down

I am going through the same thing right now. I ate some pork that got stuck and came back up. For the last week I can't get anything in. I will take a drink of water and it takes hours to go through. I also have a call in to my doctor. Good luck, it sucks!!!!

    any single gals out there???

I know some people have a hard time telling people about their band, but I find myself telling everyone! I am so excited about my weight loss that I just can't keep my mouth shut about it. Am I wierd? Maybe people don't really want to hear about it? I am single too, but wouldn't mind dating. Maybe I should not talk about with someone I first meet.
  3. I had my first fill one week ago and at first I had good restriction. I don't feel restricted so much now, but I am still eating so much less than before I was banded. My theory is why eat the food that made me fat to begin with? I am following the rules and not eating too much fat or sugar, and so far have lost 50lbs.
  4. The port will stop pushing on your ribs. At least it did for me. At first when I would try to wear jeans it was quite uncomfortable, but now it is no problem. Maybe you are not getting enough calories. It depends on how much you are exercising, if you are burning too many calories your body may think you are starving. I have lost 50lbs and I was banded on 1/22/08. I walk a few days a week, and I probably don't get a ton of calories either. I would say to be patient. I know that's not easy. Hang in there it will happen as long as you are following the diet rules. Staying away from too much fat and sugar. I will never eat the food that made me fat again. YAY US!!
  5. I am 6 weeks post op and i am getting my first fill tomorrow. can anyone tell me what pb-ing is, and what is sliming????

I think I figured it out

I was banded on 1/22/08 and had SOOOOOO many problems with gas. I did walk alot but it didn't seem to help much. I went a full week with nothing but water. The bloated feeling wouldn't go away and when I did burp it didn't seem to help. I found that when I would go to bed at night is when the gas would come out the southern regions (if you know what i mean) :-) Getting better every day. you will too. I have lost 29 lbs since banding. It's my only consolation for the yucky feeling.

    Fast Food Question....

I think until you are able to eat regular food again you are going to be hard pressed to find much. Alot of places have soup. you might be able to have some of that. After you are on regular foods again there are lots of options. I know at McDonald's there is a grilled chicken sandwich that is very good. you would just want to order it plain, then maybe you could put a little BBQ sauce on it. Most restaurants have some kind of light menu. I don't know if I am helping. Good Luck to you.
  8. I was banded 6 days ago and I have so much gas in my stomach that I can hardly stand it. It feels like I have swallowed a sponge that has swollen. I can not stomach the idea of taking in anything but water at this point, I even went to the ER this weekend with dry heaves and stomach cramps. Has anyone had this problem? What can I do? HELP!!!!
  9. I have been going through the same thing. I was banded on the 22nd. I still only want Water. I tried some skim milk yesterday, but I won't be doing that again for awhile. I have been feeling a little better day by day, but I don't want anything but water. I know in my heart this is all worth it. I have lost 22 lbs already! That makes it worth it. We'll get through this. Mindy

    I think I might explode!!

The walking wasn't working, but I think that I am finally getting a little bit better. I still can't stand the thought of "eating" anything. I tried to drink some milk last night, won't do that again for awhile. I guess this too shall pass. thank you for your advice.
  11. I am going through very similar stuff, that's why I got on too. I was in the ER this weekend with dry heaves and stomach cramps. I was banded on the 22nd of January. I have been on clear liquids for two days now. I kind of feel like I have swallowed a sponge!! I just had to go have a CT scan too. feel like crap!! I hope you feel better!
  12. I am scheduled for my surgery on January 22nd. :whoo:I'm so excited, but nervous too. I don't know ANYONE who has had lap band, only bypass. I really don't know what to expect. I am glad I found this site.

    How long is the process????

I know everyone is different, but my process has taken over a year. I first went to the seminar in Sept of 06', but I had not been under a doctor's care for weight loss for one year (which my insurance required) so I had to wait until I had one year of supervised weight loss before I could really proceed too much. I saw the surgeon in May this year, and very quickly got in to all of my pre-surgery appointments. I saw the cardiologist, and psychologist right away. I had to wait a little while for my upper GI. I didn't have to get any blood work done, but I still hadn't gotten all of the paperwork that my PCP was supposed to turn in. I was so frusterated with the whole thing that I thought I may never get the surgery. I am scheduled for January 22nd. FINALLY!!!!! I am very excited, and nervous. So, the process is different for everyone, but even if it gets long, hang in there. It's worth it.:clap2:
