ChubRub's Plastic Surgery Thread

  • Popular Post

I've enjoyed reading everyone's plastic surgery threads, and since I'm 3 weeks out from surgery, I thought I would start my own! I'm going to make up for all of the WLS mistakes I made (not taking "before" photos or measurements), and plan to track my PS progress much better!!

So here's where I am to date! I originally planned on having a CTT (circumferential tummy tuck, also known as a lower body lift) along with a BR/BL/BA (breast reduction, lift, and then adding implants back in for fullness). Plans have changed slightly since then, and I've also changed surgeons. The original surgeon I was going to does great work, but the surgery center he works for is very unorganized. I was initially willing to put up with the chaos to get that particular surgeon, but there was story after story of women getting their surgeries canceled at the last minute, and it was adding too much stress to what I want to be a really fun and exciting process.

The new surgeon suggested a different approach, and I really like her thoughts on it. Instead of a CTT she wants to address only the front of me (tummy and breasts) so that she can remove more skin from my tummy and leave me in that post tummy tuck hunched over position. With the CTT she wouldn't be able to take as much off the front b/c of the posterior incision. So my goal for round 1 is to look great from the front! LOL!! I really like how she explained it, and am excited!

Also I'm now down to a 34D, and the lift itself will reduce a little bit, so now I'm just a BL/BA (no more BR).

I've completed my pre-op testing (mammogram, chest xray, EKG, bloodwork), and will head down to Florida next week. I covid test upon arrival then report to the office on 1/6 for my pre-op visit. Surgery is on 1/12, and she wants me to stay in town for at least 4 weeks, but better yet would be 6 weeks after surgery.

Since I'm working from home due to Covid anyway, and have a place to stay in Florida, I'm 100% on board with the stay requirements! Something good to come out of Covid!! LOL!!!

So that's where I am for now, and look forward to updating with my progress as the weeks go by!!

What is a compression machine? Was it provided or did you rent it? Inquiring minds want to know! :)

So happy everything is going well for you! Looking forward to following your recovery. Did you get the Exparel shot?

It's a leg compression machine to prevent blood clots. Like the kind they put on you in the hospital after surgery. My surgeon loans them to her patients to use for the first week after surgery.

Thanks so much! No, I didn't get the Exparel shot. My surgeon doesn't offer it, but it seems like I didn't need it anyway. Hoping I'm not jinxing myself, but I seriously feel great!!! Fingers crossed that I continue to feel this way!!

You can order one off of amazon. That’s where I got mine for my surgery. It was like $80. Research them out of course. I’m sure there are some crappy ones. The one I got is a rechargeable one bc I needed it to drive bk 4 hours home.
My surgeon provides a set of the rechargeable Circul-8 compressions devices.

2DPO!

I slept so great last night! Only up twice for the bathroom, and other than that, slept through the night until 8am (which is late for me)! The pain meds are still doing their thing, and my pain level remains at Zero as long as I'm sitting. Goes up to a 1 or 2 if I need to shift around or am going to the bathroom. I'm still pleasantly surprised at how great I feel!

Looking forward to my shower tonight, and while I'm in the shower, hubby will wash my garments. Also looking forward to getting another peek at my new body before I get in the shower!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!!

Mini Update!

I just took a shower and it feels so good to be clean!! I also weighed myself just for fun, and was 118 which is 1lb higher than pre op. I know I'm full of fluids, but also that they removed some skin, so will be fun to see what the final tally is!

Still feeling good pain wise too!

3DPO!

Had another post op visit this morning. Dressings were removed, and they put tape on my boobs. My tummy incisions are uncovered, and I've been instructed to put antibiotic cream on the incisions 2x/day. I am to continue use of the compression machine over the weekend, and then I go back to the office again on Monday to check my drains.

I still feel great! Only pain now is back pain from being hunched over. It's fine when I'm sitting, but my back starts burning when I'm standing or walking. So I mostly sit!!

Hope everyone is having a Happy Friday!!

4DPO!

Still feeling great as far as pain is concerned. Switched from pain meds to Tylenol yesterday. I have a lot of fatigue (similar to how I felt after WLS). Took 2 naps yesterday, and 2 naps today (so far)! Was planning on showering today, but napped instead. I have promised myself that I would find the energy to shower tomorrow!

Still in my recliner with my compression booties. Can't wait to be able to sleep on my side someday soon!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! ?

I’m really feeling the fatigue too. I had my first shower today. It felt amazing, but I needed a nap afterwards!

I can't wait to see the after photos! Your recovery is going great! Prayers for continued complication free, speedy recovery!
