Got a call today on my cell, so I don't answer it during the day. It was the doctors office moving my surgery to January 25th. I called them back just now and left the meanest sounding message I have ever left for anyone, my office can't have me out the following week, my parents are going back to Florida the following week etc. I am so pissed. So, so pissed.

that really stinks especially because it's Friday. Let's hope they can do something for you when you speak to them on Monday.

I am more pissed off over this than anything else I can remember. I am not sad, but angry, very angry.:angry:mad:

My original date that was promised to me was January 7. Unfortunately, that was over the phone. When I went in, we called my parents to confirm the dates they could be here, and it wasn't even as late as the date that was now scheduled, (January 21) but Dad cleared his medical followup for that week to be with me.

I was told that no surgeries were being done on January 7th at NYU. Then I read on this very board that someone is having surgery that day there.

My office is slow in the beginning of January, I explained this to the people at NYU as to why my surgery wasn't going to be scheduled in November or December. This is our busy time and I am making business trips.

Now, even though its only December, we have made schedule changes at work. I have to return to work on January 28. I am going back out of town on February 29th. I can change the surgery date to any day before January 21. I am going to have a laptop to use at the hospital and at home. I am responsible for many things and the people at work have a hard time coping when I am not there.

Even if I could change the issues at work, I will not have the surgery if my parents can't be with me before, during and after. The good thing about living in NYC, there are a host of other great hospitals here that have qualified doctors. So, this weekend I am going to explore those, and see if all my pre-surgical stuff, nutritionist, psychological, etc could carry over to another hospital.

I don't know how that works about switching doctors. Is your dr Dr Ren or Fieldings. I know they are with NYU and they are at the top of their game. I am also in NY and going to South Nassau Communities Hospital with Dr Vohra/Dr Nishimura..they are also running a tight schedule. My friend got banded in New York Hospital, Queens and they seemed to be really quick but again I don't know how that works. Have you already been approved from insuance? I wish you all the best..maybe your doctors office can squeeze you in in view of the fact that your parents are coming here from out of state and also you job situation.

Well I am going to see what they say next week. Thanks for the support. I was so upset last night over this. It would cost my parents $800 to change their plans, and I can't ask them to pay that.

I am the only one one Jan 2nd--I feel lonely! lol I am excited though--good luck everyone!

I am getting so excited/nervous I can hardly wait for my surgery! :whoo:I never though I would of wanted to be on liquid diet on Christmas but at this point I don't really care because I just want it to happen!

Well, I got my date today. All that left now is getting blood drawn on Christmas Eve while out of town!!
