by catheter do you mean to drain urine or an intravenous 'catheter'? I like that in UK/Aus we call and IV a cannula and a catheter only ever means to drain urine :D So i get confused with you guys lol

nope. It's a pretty short surgery. Also, they want you up and walking around a lot. Having to go to the bathroom is a good way of getting you out of bed and walking!
