I was told popcorn can be a problem but not for the reasons most people think. Popcorn as long as chewed very well should not be a problem. But my surgeon doesn't like us eating it because it is empty calories. No food value and we need the food value since we are eating so little.

Makes sense but at the same time, I love popcorn and I will on occasion partake if I can, when the time comes that I can have solid food again......:(

I haven't had a problem with exception of one night at my friends house. She made microwave popcorn and put it in a large bowl between us to share while watching a movie. I was fine at first, really concious of it and taking small amounts. Once I got into watching the movie I started the mindless eating like I used to do. Before I knew it I felt like I had the worst indigestion of my life. After a little while it did pass and I didn't get sick from it. Now I know to either make one snack-size bag or pour some into a much smaller bowl for myself. I haven't had a problem since.

Same for me, I tried to stay away from it in the beginning, but then i tried some and it went down OK. But on the otherside of it, we need to be careful of our intake. Good Luck everyone.

I miss popcorn! I can't wait to try it when I'm on solid foods. I can't believe I'll go see a movie and have to order a SMALL - usually it's the big tub with extra butter! :( I hope I'll be able to tolerate it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
