Post Op 1 week-questions

Recommended Posts

Hey All! New here and have already found all of you so helpful. I stumbled across here a few days ago and I’m so glad I did.

I am one week post op and had an appt with my doctor during the week but forgot to ask some questions. I know they told me I could only shower, no baths or pool, but I was never told how long this restriction is for. Does anyone know any specific guidelines you were told for this? I appreciate any information you have!

Again, thanks in advance for all your help!

I was told no baths pools etc until all incisions are completely healed. (Not a specific time frame. ). Congrats on your surgery I had my sleeve on 7/15.

I was also told I had to be completely healed (scabs off) - that was about four weeks for me.

This was actually a question i asked 2 weeks post op and my surgeon said it was fine to go in the pool and to enjoy my summer. He said just take it easy in the pool dont go crazy by doing flips in the pool or anything for the first month.

I was told 2 week as well and I had my RNY on 7/25 so I'm a little over a week 'post-op'

About two weeks, need time for the incisions to completely cover over and be sealed.

Mine was also 4 weeks or until scabs were off.

My surgeon said no baths or swimming until I was healed. I had steri-strips and those buggers did not fall off for about a month! Once they did, I was fully healed underneath.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
