I think I started up on mine right away, but some people are advised by their surgeons to wait a week or so. You might want to call their office and ask just in case..

My dr had me wait 1 month before starting vitamins. He said in the beginning you aren’t eating enough food to help your body absorb the vitamins. So you’d end up peeing them all out!

I didn't start for about a month when I was on soft foods. I just got back from my 4-month visit and blood tests and everything was fine. Waiting won't hurt.

I started within 1 week post op. Chewable only because they are huge... but I had no trouble swallowing other medications in small pill form.
