Anyone else have sleeve outpatient?

I've honestly not heard of outpatient. I think it's pretty typical to stay one night. Where are you having surgery?

Don’t think it can be done as an out patient procedure

Mine is being done outpatient on May 1st.

I can't imagine being discharged outpatient. I was in a world of hurt and they need to monitor your liquids.

I had outpatient VSG. I hate hospitals, therefore it worked out great for me. They just made sure I could walk on my own and used the bathroom before discharging me.

My VSG was done outpatient surgery in less than 24hrs. Arrived at 7am, stayed overnight and left before 6am next morning.

They told me if I can walk on my own and use the restroom I could leave afterwards.

I didn't think it could be done outpatient because you have to do the "leak test" 24 hours afterward. I was in the hospital two nights and thank goodness for it because I was so nauseous on Day #1 post-op.

One of my Texas friends did it that way, dismissed 5 pm on surgery day. Went back the next AM to the hospital's Ambulatory Surgery Department for her Leak Test. A lot younger (and probably fitter) than me. She was one of those who went shopping at the mall after delivering with her newborn in a sling on her chest. I asked " Good God, why?" She said " Well they were having a sale of Linens going on!" Just the difference in age, think she's maybe 26? Having babies, having surgery, they both pretty much Wiped Me Out for the duration.

That's pretty mad. I wanted to be out quick but my dr is saying we can't by law let you go under the influence of drugs still and if still in pain they have duty of care

Maybe it’s because I’m self pay. But, most people in my area have it outpatient.

Exactly my experience. 2 nights in hospital. Very nauseous on day 1 post-op. Also had the leak test before leaving.
