If you're only a day away from surgery, it's time to stop doing research. Stay positive! The chances of something going wrong are slim. I was super nervous going into my surgery also but all was a breeze! I wish you a speedy recovery!

I just went through it 7 1/2 weeks ago and everything's okay. No infections, no leaks, no constipation, no pain, no anything. You'll be fine. Take care and good luck tomorrow.

Just wanted to thank everyone who responded to me in my panic. It helped to ease my anxiety a great deal. It is now day 4 post-op. I'm back at work! I know not everyone will have the same experience but I had a great hospital staff. I woke up with some pain which they quickly took care of. As soon as a little nausea set in, they quickly took care of that. They all really helped to keep me pain free, nausea free and hydrated. I am so grateful to the staff at RWJUH in New Brunswick NJ, Dr. Antoine, and to all those on this forum who responded to my "fear and anxiety" post.

Good luck to all of you who are waiting for the surgery! All I can say is let your doctors and nurses know right away if you're uncomfortable and listen to your body. I'm looking forward to joining all the losers! ?

Hope it went well
